89 k5 Trazer build "The Dirty Girl" *Tubed front/taper, full hydro steer*

Got some work done on the snorkel setup.

I cut out the bottom of the old air cleaner and welded a strip of steel around it.

Then I cut out the center of the air cleaner lid

I set it on top (not welded yet)

later I will cut a hole and insert a piece of 4" exhaust tubing

Last thing I did was sand the inside of the housing and prime it. Next time I'm at the garage I will paint the inside and either run caulk or RTV along the inside bottom edge where it was welded to ensure a air tight seal. Also the stud that holds down the air cleaner housing was just a little too short. I unthreaded it a few turns and now I can re-use the factory wingnut.

Here's a pic of the Subaru Brat jumpseats I got last weekend. I'm going to try and mount both of them in the back, but if I decide there isn't enough room I will just mount one of them.

How come your not just using a stock snorkel?

dude that motor is clean!!just giving you a hard time man..looks good seriously..im tunning in on the seats cause now with my truck and the flat bed everyone want to ride unlike when i had the blazer with 4 seats no one wanted to go

The set up that comes on later model trucks, it has a rubber seal where the two pieces go together and an outlet
Oh are talking about the style with the filter housing mounted on top of the wheel well, then a rubberhose going to another housing on top of the engine?
This is working good for me, so far I have about $30 invested and I should be under $100 when its all done

Lol I'm not touching that motor till it blows ;) I got enough on my hands as it is

 Nice

I was thinking about making something like that so the filter can only suck from the firewall side. I wont be goin in any top truck challange deep water so I'm just worried about what splashes through the grill and from the underside of the engine when you hit a water hole hard.

Busy weekend, made some more progress on the snorkel, flatbed, and rear upper shock mount. Pics later, but I did snap a pic of my new 205 PTO cover Kert at DIY4X cut out for me

I was wondering if you had gotten that bolted up. Looks good. Aluminum really pops behind the olive!

Got a whole bunch of little things checked off my to-do list. We are trying to get the truck ready wheel by the end of next month. It's going to be tight, but I think it is possible.

Front bumper is done for now
