89 k5 Trazer build "The Dirty Girl" *Tubed front/taper, full hydro steer*

Ok camera is still MIA. I have a piece of wood cut (temporary) for the flat bed. The dual battery trays are mounted. The batteries are wired up, we still need to run a new wire for the alternator. Winch is wired up (minus one terminal that needs to be installed) and the winch works.

Rear drum brakes are adjusted. I received new, longer front brakelines from ORD. Not installed yet. All the flatbed mounts are fully welded, just need to add two gussets later. Started cutting some steel for a center console and I found some angle iron lying around the house that I'm going to use for the seat mounting.

We took the truck outside and flexed it with the engine hoist so I could measure for a front driveshaft. We lifted the pass-side rear tire and ended up bottoming out the drivers-side front shock. So we unbolted the shock and continued to lift the rear tire. It just about maxed out when the tire was 38 inches off the ground.

The front suspension is still doing most of the work, but with a little more weight in the rear it should flex even higher. It's getting pretty close to being driveable, few weeks away. I can't wait!

What a tease, telling about amazing flex and not posting pictures...unacceptable
:doah: Well I did manage to snap a picture with a friends camera, then it started acting up. He still needs to e-mail me the pic, hopefully soon.

Quick hijack with all of the spring plus or minus questions this is what a trazer looks like with 4" lift 56" springs in front and 5" lift 63" springs with ORD shackle flip in the rear, on a 60/14b and stock H2's, keep in mind that the fence behind the truck is 6' tall. Awesome job on your build so far i started this one back around the same time you did, a 75 cab on a 79 frame but am parting it out now into a 76 blazer.

Brakes will be done this weekend. Wiring is just about done. I just got off the phone with Jesse at HAD, front d-shaft ordered. My brother and I will be hitting the 203/205 xmember hard this weekend. There is a slight chance of a test drive sunday afternoon (fingers crossed)

Sounds like my prick neighbors. No wrenching in the driveway ( I am always in garage anyways)

No trailers in Driveway..

Gotten warnings for parking across sidewalk etc etc... ****ing no good idiots have nothing better to do. Normal night wreching session isn't normal for me unless cops show at least 1 time :)

I wouldn't want cars all apart in my neighborhood.

Even at the 1000 Sq ft bay we rent we cant even have cars apart outside

I am not saying take a car apart. I mean no wrenching outside. aka changing a tire , or anything. I agree on a vehicle being disassembled. But not changing a tire or other bs.

Oh, in that case that would be BS then

Dual batterys mounted and wired, I just got to move the one tray over a few inches. I mounted them too close together :o

And we did some modifications to the gas filler neck. My brother took it to work and had his boss braze on a piece of 2" exhaust tubeing. Later we will make a bracket to attach the neck to the flatbed
