'89 R3500 Crew Cab 2wd to 4wd conversion & beyond

Started out with 2wd TBI350 with SM465 to current 4wd with 454, 700r4, NP241
Thanks, and I'm pretty sure ORD has pro covers with an npt fitting. Or I know they did.
Just double checked and it's not on the site. They do have a billet bearing retainer.

kirt @cybrfire has or did make billit aluminum pto covers with fins and npt port in them .
It's not on the site anymore. That's the first place I thought to look.

A buddy here locally sells off ebay. TDS is is name of the business. His name is dottk10 on ebay.

Hope that works

He wheels a chevrolet with an ord doubler tons big tars etc etc.
Thanks for the reference. Good to know the person behind the eBay store.

Thank you.

Drill and tap it.

Chrome don't get you home. But it does get the chicks!

Hell, I'll make you some out of Ti
Somehow I have a feeling that might be a pricey pto cover. :rotfl:

Wondering if I should worry about replacing this bearing. This is the one that presses in to the speedo housing that has all the loose roller bearings.

Part of me feels like it's not a big deal. The other part wonders how it got there in the first place. I think I found a new one on RockAuto.com.

Can’t be terrible expensive and it’s apart.
What’s the cost?

Sucky thing is I have an extra but it has this roached out spot.

It looks worse than the picture shows.

I think its interesting that both tcase have issues with the same bearing.

Forgot to post some pictures. Found another use for the trans jack. Makes a good little work bench for the NP205.

Got the guts pulled for the Magnum input shaft and twin-stick shifter rails.

I also found the tag for the '80 NP205. It was built in early '80. The tcase I'm pulling the fixed yoke from was in a '79 but the tag says it was built in '78. So the 2 aren't as close in age as I thought they might be.

Yes. Got it for my birthday earlier this year. Works great for dropping fuel tanks too.

Kinda surprising when you think about how high it lifts. That's at a comfortable waist high working height. Might be a little low for tall freaks like @skunked I suppose. But that would lift a trans into a pretty tall truck.

It does settle 3 or 4 inches overnight but it didn't go any further over the past 4 day weekend.

I actually went to buy the 800lb model but they were sold out, that one reaches 24" high which is enough for my truck on 40's. The 2000lb model is 32" IIRC.

I’m debating on that one or the heavy duty one for my 2 post lift. The cheesy trans lift I have now for the 2 post is sketchy as hell getting it up any higher than my chest.

Did you bleed the trans lift? My car jacks did that until I bled them.
