Have a couple issues to address after yesterday's snow run.
My winch wasn't working. I replaced the solenoid pack with a contactor several years ago.
https://ck5.com/forums/threads/89-r...conversion-beyond.303347/page-29#post-3387647 Yesterday the contactor would "click" but the winch wasn't turning. Gonna have to check for loose power cable(s) or it may need a new contactor.
The other problem occurred on the drive home. Just outside of Denver, the engine started running poorly. Basically had virtually no power and sputtered when under load - accelerating or going up a hill. I actually had something similar happen on the last trail run on the drive to the trail. But that time it only lasted for about 10 seconds.
Yesterday the power loss lasted for about an hour. The engine would idle perfectly. All of the readings from the EFI looked good. AFR was on target, fuel pressure was good, TPS reading as expected, etc. The only unusual reading was fuel learn; it was 50% at cruising speed. At idle, it would run the normal single digit percentage.
About 10 or 15 minutes from our shop, it suddenly cleared up and ran normally. Didn't have an issue the rest of the drive. I don't have the handheld where I can see it while driving. It's too bright at night. Shortly after it started running normally, I picked up the controller to take a look and it had an interesting message on the display. "Unable to run setup wizard while engine is running". I'm thinking the ECU must have been glitching. I wish now I had happened to look at the controller while it was running poorly.
When it first happened, I thought may be I had a bad plug or plug wire. But since it cleared up like it did and the message on the controller, I'm thinking it was the ECU. I'm going to try flashing a firmware update and see if I have anymore trouble with it. I'll also look over all the plug wires and other wiring to make sure there isn't anything going on there.
