89 Suburban is gone....added a K5 in it's place..87 V30 WONTON

Started cutting and engraving some test pieces on fluorescent acrylic today. Pretty cool stuff, and the pictures don't show how bright it really is.

Really don't have any updates yet, still waiting on the trans to be rebuilt for the 77. Can't wait to cruise, the weather is perfect!

I did grab a gallon each of carc green and tan paint for various parts / body on the 77.

Upgraded to a Miller 252 this past week and whoa! I'm not a welder by any means but this thing is cool. Cut out a number plate for my shop out of 3/8" and welded a base plate for securing it to the ground. I'm assuming too many amps is why I'm getting that undercut? Any tips are much appreciated from more experienced welders.

Maybe I can get you to do any heavy welding I might need some time. I only have a Lincoln 140/110 AMP Mig welder. I do not have a 220-outlet in my shop so I can only run a small Mig welder. I mostly run .045 flux core wire, which allows me to weld up to 1/4" steel.

@1-ton I'm not a welder by trade and I'm self taught, but I'll be glad to help out.

yes. it's nice stuff for sure.

Getting a few things done today that I've been putting off. Welded up the press brake kit and tested it out 1/4" plate 6" wide into a 90. Don't mind the welds they seem to work. Very impressed for the money & can't wait to make a couple of things.

We've been making signs / graphics for a lot of years and started using reflective for the race vehicles recently. Think the 77 needs some subtle stripes that reflect too. I they turned out nice!

Anyone ever section out the floor and put an oversize fuel cell in place of the stock tank? I would like more range without having the tank super low or jugs in/hanging off the K5.

Also, looking for the thread link where there's measurements for cutting an access door for the sending unit?

Cutting out the floor is easy. It’s trying to seal it up after that’s

I'm not sure it matters on the 77. It has flintstone style air condition holes throughout.

Thanks. Can't wait to get going on it.
