Upgraded to a Miller 252 this past week and whoa! I'm not a welder by any means but this thing is cool. Cut out a number plate for my shop out of 3/8" and welded a base plate for securing it to the ground. I'm assuming too many amps is why I'm getting that undercut? Any tips are much appreciated from more experienced welders.

Maybe I can get you to do any heavy welding I might need some time. I only have a Lincoln 140/110 AMP Mig welder. I do not have a 220-outlet in my shop so I can only run a small Mig welder. I mostly run .045 flux core wire, which allows me to weld up to 1/4" steel.
