90 diesel Jimmy

Well the tear down has started my original plan was swap the diff over with the suspension but I decoded the diesel and it's running 3.42 gears. Today I jacked up the 86 and tried to unbolt the ubolts but my deep socket impact wasn't working the bolts. We're too long so I've decided to cut them off and while I was under the 86 I was trying to disconnect the brake lines to no prevail all I was doing was stripping the equalizers then I tried to disconnect the brakes at the frame mount and again no prevail. So that being said I've decided to just cut off the ubolts and swap the suspension over. Hopefully tomorrow I will have the rears at least done. We will see.

Also I pulled off a wheel and discovered that there are 2 inch spacers. Will I need to swap them over to run 35/16r15s or can I run with out them?

I don't think you will them...try without.

Good luck with the swapping! That is usually a good workout if you want to not just chop everything apart.

Air tools are useless on ubolts...1 inch drive and a nice long pipe is the way I go. Or a angle grinder with a cut off wheel! :D

Well I've been fighting the 90s rear suspension for 6 hours and haven't even got one bolt off. The 86s entire rear suspension is off after lunch I'm going to take the front off. It was so easy getting the 86s off took about 1 hour for shocks and springs all I did was cut off the ubolts lol. I think the wife is going to give me an awesome Christmas gift of someone installing the lift lol she was calling around yesterday lol. But it's coming along I've gone through 8 grinding discs and I don't know how many sawsall blades lol and still no progress on the 90 lol.

yup.

Had to call it a night getting freezing rain really demotivated you to work.

Update I have the front suspension bolts out of the 86 all I have to do is remove the shocks, and cut the u bolts.

I haven't been able to break any bolts on the 90 loose or off. Guess I know what I'm getting for Christmas lol.

is there an easy way to get the front brake lines off? i have braided brake lines for it too.

and is there much difference in flex if i take the front sway bar off?

coming from the world of jeeps lol.

31s look so small lol

Ditch the short front shock, and just run a single shock in the auxiliary position. I would ditch the swaybar, or get disconnects.

Well the lift is 99.5 % done just have to run to town and pick up a ubolt for the passenger side front, and mount the 35s. I also installed the braided brake lines while I had the wheels off. Went togeather pretty good just a few times I wish I had more then two hands. The old front suspension was so bad the leafs were nearly riding on the bump stops lol.
