'90 K5 "Project Sanity" Sold 7/5/2018

Haha, king tricks. :waytogo: I knew you had to have done something already if you shot it with that pretty green already.

Nice work dude.

nice fabbing without a bender. can't tell otherwise!

The irony is, I have a JD2 here...

I need to build a stand, or an air over hydro stand for it. As little time as I have right now I went with this method.

Hmm... I'm really digging the engine cage. I admit, I haven't even looked at this thread yet. I'll have to take a better look when I get home.

It's not the most exciting build thread...so far. So many mundane things needed taking care of first. After the bash I'll get into more interesting things. :waytogo:

I can't wait to see your rig at blazer bash! Eric will probably be running Lockhart with us too.

My gas pedal I ordered should/might be here before then. :dunno:

I didn't touch it this weekend, my lovely wife and I made some semi-last minute plans to get away for the weekend and drove to BC last Friday, back to work this morning.

I hope I'm not lol that means I spent money on the Jimmy and not horton but it's looking like I might be doing that exact thing :doah:

Well get your ass down there either way, haha! I'd love to see Horton.

So, I've been evaluating where I'm at with this regarding Blazer Bash...and unfortunately I gotta call it. My Blazer will not be making it this year for a few reasons.

Number 1, with the work left I cannot see this running/driving soon enough to truly get the bugs worked out before Blazer Bash. It may be technically done in time, but with no shakedown time I see too much 'risk'.

Number 2, my buddy Stan from BC (BigDummy89K5) and my buddy Nick (bix here) were gonna head down with me. With three of us heading down any mechanical issues are less a big deal. First Nick pulled out due to starting a new job and not being able to get the time off. Shortly after, Stan injured himself working on his house...badly enough that he will likely not even be back to work til mid Sept. Stan is out this year...

I have the time booked, I'm unhurt, and have the cash set aside for two weeks of vacation. Today we dealt on a ~26' Wilderness trailer. If things go through we'll be pulling that down to moab with my new GMC pick-up and do some scenery trails with the new ride. Gonna bring the mountain bikes too.

Progress on the Blazer won't cease...however now the pressure is off and I can't spend the time it needs on it instead of possibly half-assing the remainder just to get it done for BB.

Next year I'm bringing the Blazer. We'll still be going this year though.

Next year I hope to haul the Maiden out with the 76CC with Cummins power!

That's to bad about your buddy Stan. :doah: And that is probably a good idea not to rush the blazer...way to far of a trip to be testing out all the new additions in such a short time.

I'd love to meet you when you come through the area, so please keep me informed. Even if it's just a quick hello.

On the way towards home we might be able to stop by. pm me if you want...

I will as it gets a bit closer. Kinda got some things happening that may change my schedule pretty significantly.

We have a heart beat doctor!

Just fired Rene's K5 up for the first time with it's new 5.3L engine. Sounds rank with open manifolds haha!

I really don't think there is a better feeling than hearing that engine roar to life after doing a swap like this. Especially when it sounds exactly like it would have in the truck it came from when it starts with a nice little bump in the throttle then down to a nice smooth idle!
