'90 K5 "Project Sanity" Sold 7/5/2018

BB this year!? get on with the passport rene! or ill have to flat tow your truck across and hide you in a trap door compartment that ill need help fabbing up! hahah

i just got my 10 yr passport last week so im good to go. May have found a new place to live for a bit with driveway space to work on the blazer. We better start making some lists of what has to be done by july for ample road testing before sept...

I'm gonna spend a few hours searching boxes this weekend. If I can find my expired passport it'll make getting a new one way easier...

I Volunteered to work every second Saturday going forward which puts me at about 65 hours a week now. That being said I'd like to get back into the garage and knock out the few little jobs that are left and get it inspected, legal, and insured.

Well, a somewhat bittersweet update. I sold Project Sanity today to a nice fella from BC. So, it's going home again to Chilliwack BC to be completed. I think I did fairly well selling an incomplete project, I got $7000 for it.

Ultimately getting rid of tax debt won out, and this gets me a lot closer to having that debt paid. My 57 Pontiac is on the block next, but I have to do a few things to it first. My goal with that is running/driving and maybe able to stop with all the front sheet metal on it. That should go for between $7K and $10K in that state.

That will get me down to one project that I haven't mentioned here yet. A 64 GMC C10 pick-up I bought this spring. It's getting the LQ-9 I scored from Russel and will become a short box. Beyond that i don't know...but it will be somewhat of a relief to be back down to one project rather than three.

Sorry if I have disappointed anyone with this news...but it was the best solution to a shitty problem.

Sadly I was hoping for this update for awhile, knowing the C10 was in the chute.
Hate to see it go, but sometimes things change

Now about that C10...

That sucks but sometimes it’s easier to be down to one project to get out of debt. I’ve done it and hated every minute of watching one of my vehicles go that I really wanted to finish myself but money wasn’t there. Good luck and hopefully you don’t have to sell everything.

I will eventually start a build on the C10, but it might be a few months yet. As sucky as it is I just have to double down on my repayment strategy and keep focused on that. I've paid down my debt by almost $20,000 in the last 11 months not including the sale of my Blazer. I have another $20K to go now...and should have that done by March or April.

At that point I will have re-paid this $45K in under two years without a re-fi or any other "Easy button". Most importantly I will not have eaten into the equity on my house...and even more importantly I will finally be able to feel like I can live my life again.

Well brother I knew you've been fighting it. We're all praying for the best for you.
Just don't be a stranger

Sadly Rene I am right there with you. I’m medicated so a bit chatty lol!:smokin2: I’m down sizing and selling certain things I just can’t afford to finish up and will never have the time to. I’m moving my shop within the next 5 1/2 months. Major changes coming that will make for thousands of dollars is monthly savings.

Going away is the $189 monthly storage fee for my truck camper and duelly. Storing for free at my buddies shop. I will be moving into his 16k sq ft building. I’m not selling my machines. I’m letting my buddy have use of them in trade for free shop space. So my current space rent of $1935 will go away.

I will need a place to live. My buddy offered to pay for an apartment. I would for a short few months just like to stay in my camper, and have him split the difference and pay me so I can build a savings up. I told my buddy I can be armed shop security at night too. I’ll use shop amenities so I don’t have to go dump my tanks so much unless I’m using it.

Keeping and Will be working on getting the blazer just bolted bact together to ease moving it. Getting closer to selling my 89’ crewcab. That one hurts. Keeping the stock 87’ Samurai. Selling the 86’ convertible Sammy. Keeping the duelly and truck camper for now unless my health really goes down hill fast... I want to die with that rig honestly. Tin top sammy is for a towing behind the camper.

So we all go thru this crap of having to sell something we have absolutely bled for and literally worked Years of our lives on, only to have to sell it. It sucks ass, but its just part of life. I hope it helps you a Great deal in relieving the stress. It will. Stay strong brother. Thats what I’m doin too my friend.

Apparently...I’m not Superman. I’m still having a tough time believing I can’t do it All. I keep working. Things are still always getting done. I just move slower. And hurt 99% of the time. These next 6 months are going to be Brutal. If I can handle it so can you brother. Good luck. Were here to help! Hauler if necessary.

I'll still be here every day, I do still own one square, and sort of own a second. I gave my daughter the brown 83 GMC with the 6.2 diesel. She and her boyfriend just closed on their first house (I'm so proud and happy for them! first house at 24!) so she will finally have a place for the 83. I'm going to drop a 5.3 in it for her, or a 6.0. Whatever I find first...

Then there is a junky 83 K1500 I paid $500 a while back and have done nothing to. Now I have a spot in the driveway I think that will come home for a quick tidy, then flip it for $1500 or so (hopefully)

Anyways, CK5 is home for me regardless of what is in the garage. This is the first time without a K5 since 1996 for me though. It does feel a little weird...
