91' Blazer 6.0 LS, 4l80e, Nose swap, Full Top Conversion, and Restoration

I'm one of the lucky ones with Griffin. 20K miles and still all good. Based on the feedback here, I wouldn't buy another.

I also subscribe to the separate coolers theory.

The frame is 90% painted and the bottom of the body is painted. Tomorrow I'll be putting the engine/transmission back in and putting the body back on the frame.

I'll be going on vacation for a week in Maine and when I get back I'll paint the other 10% of the frame. Then I can finally start laying the harness, yada yada yada

Been a little while since I have updated but I'm still slowly picking away at it.

Engine and transmission is in and will be staying in, I got a new power steering pump because I uh... used a press to put the pulley on... I also forgot to plug the holes to the steering box so that filled with water. I ordered the Sanden compressor and Dirty Dingo AC high mount bracket.

I'll be running the fuel lines next or very soon and hopefully it'll be running by the end of August or mid September

So I dropped the tank, drained it, painted it, and re installed it. I used all AN lines and fittings to hook up the pump and regulator and from the regulator on I'll be using stainless hard line.

I needed a 16 mm to -6an adapter for the feed on the sending unit and a 14 mm to -6an adapter for the return from the regulator. I used I think 6 straight -6an fittings and a couple other ones

Getting pretty close to getting it started :D

Sweeet, I checked it out and it seems easy enough to do so.. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on that

Just be careful aligning the "new" windshield frame, Supercan also did the conversion and, upon installing his windshield, realized the frame wasn't straight so he had to cut and reweld it. I haven't installed my glass yet so I'm still holding my breath on that.

Also, plan a way to reinforce the body so it doesn't sag in the door opening area. I haven't really been rough with mine and can still see where the firewall can move around. It's not flimsy by any means but I'm sure anything more than a Walmart parking lot would cause it to move over time.

Thanks! A friend of mine has done a lot of structural body work so he'll be walking me through how to go about it. He said to cut the outside section then cut the inside section about 3 inches apart and do the opposite for the other side, apparently this makes it much stronger. I'll probably cage the front a bit to stiffen it as well

So I have a noob question that has been talked about many many times but I'm having a difficult time finding fenders, a hood, and a radiator support locally.

Rockauto sells goodmark fenders, are they any good? A lot of the threads I've read are dated and I don't know if I can rely on that

I have a Goodmark cowl hood and it fits pretty well. Pretty close to factory fit and good quality construction. I'm not sure about anything else though.

So I'm one step away from starting it but I've got one issue

It cranks and nothing smells out of the ordinary in the exhaust but as soon as I stop cranking it wont stay running

I believe this is the vats system BUT as far as i know it cuts off power to fuel. I put a test light into the fuel pump trigger terminal, on intial key on there was power for the priming cycle, throughout the crank there was still power, for about a second after crank there was still power. This leads me to believe this is not the vats system but something else. Injectors, coils, plugs are fine. Suggestions?

You got a fuel pressure gauge on it? I burned up my first pump within 4-5 starts. Walbro sucks.

Pump would still prime but wouldn’t build enough pressure.
