Found another set of welds in Boise, Idaho Craigslist. I think they are roadhawks though.

Thanks for looking out for me but you're right, they are Roadhawks (6 cutouts vs 7). I do need to find another set of the D7 still like you helped me with in case I ever hurt one.

I don't really have anything new to post...

I finally finished the install on my rear bumper, it's a custom piece from Diy4x. I really like the bumper but it didn't fit the body quite like I wanted so I had to redrill the frame 1.5" up and 1.5" further in. Just an opportunity to pic whore...

I had to put the Jana76 project on hold to pull the motor, the machine shop needed the heads and flywheel sooner than I expected so I had to put the spindles and hubs back on to turn the truck around (for more room and accessibility). I'll be getting back on the axle project to finish that while I'm waiting on the motor.

Now for the sad pic -

I'll post pics of the motor stuff when I get it all back from the machine shop.

Movement is always good! in any direction! Is that the old Rat tail gate?
looks like the paint job didn't hold up real good, seems like just a few years ago now that it was painted...
The new wheels and tires make it look like a show rig?
It's not a sad picture, It's cool!, if it was a decal I would buy it and put it on a
T-shirt!

That tailgate is off of a second bed from that truck, all the years of wheeling in that salty swamp in Pensacola ate the first one up. I lucked out and found a decent bed the same color, this gate is the only thing left and all the bondo is starting to let go. Before I paint the truck next year I want to find a nice, clean tailgate for it.

Show rig? Not hardly! :haha: It's not nearly nice enough for that but I do like my polished aluminum. :pimp: It's got the wheels, pieces parts on the trans/doubler and now I've bought a couple of polished aluminum pieces for the new motor. I'll be pretty like Mr T in the woods. :rotfl:

I just wish you would get it in the woods! By then no-one will know who mr T is. I'm thinking bout boxing in my frame while you work towards getting it trail ready.

Keep up the good work John you will get there before ya know it!

Don't worry I'll get there. :D I hope to have the motor and axle projects done by the end of April. We will wheel this summer! :woot:

Well, let me add one disclaimer - the motor project depends on the machine shop but I'm hoping they can get it done by the middle of April. :doah:

Are you still building a new big block, or something else?

I'm building another 454.

It's a 4 bolt block, steel crank, 7/16 rods, KB hyperutectic(sp) pistons, 781 heads and a roller cam. Trying to be like a guy named Heath on CK5. :D The machine shop is supposed to be balancing the parts this week. It's been slow going (like most good shops :doah: ), I hope to have all the parts back in the next 2~3 weeks.

I was hoping it was another big block, sweet :thumb: Roller cams rule too. What specific cam are you going with?
