i did a bit of suspension rework this weekend and am very happy with the results

for the front i simply removed the add a leafs i had in their so now it's just factory 52s

in the rear i swapped out the 63s for a set i had lying around because they were
originally a 3 leaf pack that i also had an add a leaf on and the new set are just a factory 4 pack

overall it lowered the truck about 2", improved the ride a ton, and allows it to flex much
better without putting more stress on the springs where the short add a leafs ended along
the longer spring above it

and a bit of local testing

funny thing happened when I was parked up there taking pictures, this guy in an old Chevy truck
drove by and said, "...wait, don't move, let me go get my old lady..." he drove off and a few minutes
later came back with his wife and young son in the truck to check it out as well, it was pretty cool:waytogo:

I did a bit of lone wheeling Saturday and snapped a few pics and a short video along the way, it's in an open BLM area passed Lake Berryessa.

I also tried to capture how steep one spot was but to describe it going down it felt like I was standing up in my seat and on
the way up it felt like I was laying almost flat, and it took full low range to make it up even 2 to 1 was too much wheel spin
and my back end started bouncing, kinda scary but still a lot of fun!

Details on where this was!

I didn't know there were any trail type stuff like that around here

It's just great to watch your work and then see you use it:waytogo: GREAT PICS and Video.

http://maps.google.com/maps?msid=21...55747&t=m&vpsrc=6&hnear=Napa,+California&z=15

That's a link to where the BLM access starts(Knoxville/Devilhead Rd), there may be other entrances but this is the one I use from Napa.

Be aware though there are several wet bridges along Knoxville/Berryessa Rd during the winter months and can be impassable for lower vehicles.

Basically find a way to Lake Berryessa and follow the road along the western side of it(Knoxville/Berryessa Road)
all the way to the dirt road entrance with the BLM area sign

It's open to camping, dirt bikes/atv's, trucks, shooting, etc... with a fairly vast trail system and some good scenery

just found this video of one water crossing to give you an idea, try not to dwell on the fact it's a Heep:haha:

Bureau of Land Management. Your tax dollars at work.

Nice. I was just wondering cause it looked like it was flowing really fast. And at that speed I take it must have been one hell of a rainy season. Here at Ft.Hood we had a tank get swept away cause of floods like that. Driver thought it was a paved road. Nope it was a trail and it broke under them.

Public...... Land....? What is this crazy thing you speak of ? :dunno:

Haha I knew I should've corrected my original post, afterwards I googled BLM & apparently it consists of about 12 western states.

The "public" part is correct though its all paid for by taxes & open, at least the couple areas I go, year round, 24/7, and at no charge.
