Joe91M submitted a new Build:

93 k1500 Z71 (slow build)

So after bugging a friend for 3 years, I finally bought his 93 step side. It's a roller with all new sheet metal, a 4l60e/241c and stock everything. The motor was blown when he got it, and when he finally sold it to me, I scrapped 1 1/2 trucks to pay for it. $600 bucks and it was in my yard. Well he called me up and said, oh by the way, the truck comes with nos skyjacker 6 inch I picked up years ago and I have a 91 350 tbi motor if you want it. So what I should have done was drop the motor in it and slap the lift on and call it a day. Unfortunately, I had a ford 205 and the adapter from advance adapters along with a 700R4 that I decided had to go in the truck. The motor he had turned out to be junk, as did my 76 sbc 400, so for now I am simply collecting parts and slowly working my way into this build. I have since stolen the new head lights for my wife's 99 suburban, and the new tail lights for my 90 K1500 dd. Next big step on the truck will either be picking up a k2500 light duty for the 14bsf and the heavier center section and hubs, or rebuilding my 205 with a new set of shift rails when they come in on the 18th. I will try to add some pics of the truck, lift, tires that I want to run for now etc.

So update on this truck, the front end is getting a radius armed D44 out of my buddy's bronco, and the lift that came with this truck is now in my daily driver. Hopefully Monday I will have this truck in my garage at my new house and I can start prepping it to come apart.

So just curious why the 700?
And pictures of fab work and parts installs or it didn't happen

700 because I spent $600 dollars on an adapter for 700r4 to ford pattern 205 and I already built the trans. Pics will come as soon as I have something pictureworthy

So the truck is again sitting and not being worked on because I have a pile of other projects in front of it. That being said, I had a pile of parts fall in my lap to day and I couldn't turn them down. I happened to walk past the scrap pile at work and there were 4 or 5 complete sets of front and rear, upper and lower A-arms for some of the humvees that we just upgraded. There was also a pile of portal hubs and other random junk. Well, fortunately, my boss walked by and told me to go ahead and grab what I wanted. I now have a pile of parts to do something I have been wanting to do for a while, which is put a ifs chevy on full independent suspension, and run portals on it for massive ground clearance. The issues I have currently are that I only grabbed 3 hubs since the rest were cracked, and all three need to be rebuilt. The other issues is that I now need to figure out what center sections I want to run since the humvee portal is a reverse rotation gearbox. I'm thinking H1A with the lockers already installed, but I'm open to other suggestions. More pictures to come whenever I remember.

Hummer full independent suspension in a GMT 400...hmmm ....ok.

The jeep that Pat from premier power welder has on Humvee portals is pretty cool but he's got lots of money into it I'm sure.
