96 s10 blazer, getting a 5.3L

So I bought the plate from D&D a year or so ago. Then acquired the ford 205. Then bought the long input shaft from a chevy 205. Then torn the 205 apart and put the long input into it and twin sticked it. New seals, cleaned up and so forth too. I also acquired a 241 with the 27 spline input from the same year as mine so I could use it to get the doubler together without tearing my truck down, then just change the inputs. Well I cracked the case on the 241 in my truck, so out it came for a front case half swap. So the cracked case is now the one being used for mock up. Then I dropped off the whole thing to get the spacer made so that both shift rails will still pullout the front, in December. I finally picked it up today and here is what it looked like. It will be going in next weekend. But was excited to get it back so had to start the thread.

Right here in red.

You are right its a drivers drop ford 205. Started with a 1990 chevy, did the SAS with a 78' Ford HP dana 60 to keep my drivers drop 241, and get the high pinion. Also ford 205's are much cheaper as in usually around $50.

Have you been to SMORR down in Seymour? We are meeting up with family down there over Memorial Day. Be like a 18 hour drive so hope its worth the trip.

Got my brake lines in from G&J aircraft out of California. They are stainless with a black teflon cover. $240 shipped with all the fittings and around 35' of total length of line. Now I can get the front line lock, rear ball valve and cutting brakes hooked up.

So here is a pic of how the cab turned out with all of the shifters in it. The middle one is the NV4500. The square shifter on the left is the 241. The Two matching ones in the middle back are the 205. Then the cutting brakes on the right for the rear and a ball valve to keep then locked. The next pic is just a comparison of the 1 ton dodge drive line spline size compared to the new 16 spline stuff from HAD. Then a shot of the stock 1350 joint next to the new 1410 one.

Here is a shot of how my York AC ended up. Bought the Serp pulley from Ryder Fleet, was around $95 shipped. Built my own bracket. Just have to hook up the wire. My rock sliders are drilled and tapped for air. They are roughly 5' long 2x6" 1/4" wall. Got some 3/8 hydraulic hose that I used for air lines, not as big as I would have liked but it was free and will take the abuse well.

Here the last ones for today. Here is how my front line lock and new proportioning valve ended up. I took all the abs crap off from under the master cylinder and made a bracket to hold both of these. I'm not real happy with the way the hard lines look but when you buy the pre flared lines you get to make do with a certain length. No leaks with the new stainless lines or these, so they will work.

I haven't called down there to ask if they ever drew one up. I'm guessing they won't do one till they need, just how they work down there.

Adapter made out of billet, more holes added so it works as a clocking ring, grade 8 hardware and two flanges off of 241's turned down to work on the 205, was around $450.

Here is the link to the clutch. You have to set up an account, but it was by far the cheapest I found.

As for the bracket, I didn't take any pics that night. It is basically a "L" with the long side on the bottom. Then I took some angle and welded it to the inboard side and the bottom. I bolted the angle thru the holes for the old AC, then tacked it to the "L", while holding where I wanted it. Then pulled it off and welded her up. Turned out ok, was a pain to get in there with the bolts, but hoping between that and the red loc tite I won't be taking it off. The motor is a '90 350/5.7L.

What tranny is all this going behind? also, when you get done.... We want crawl videos! We want crawl videos!

Running a NV4500 tranny out of a '96. Just the regular one, not the super lower first gear. Wife can push the clutch since its hydraulic, instead of the old 4 speed. It was changed when it was still a DD, 5 years ago or so. Crawl will be 160.1. Will do some vid when we take her out the first time, hopefully the second wek in May. They just called drive lines are done!:saweet::saweet:. Just have to do some shift linkage next.

sweet, with a sm465/241/205 and 4.56's mine is going to be at around 160:1 as well. what size tires do plan on running?
