97 King Cab DS-Ton build - Rock Jock 60 and shaved 14

2001 S10 4.3 Ext cab 3.42s. Absolute dog of a truck. My 2000 3.0 Camry could spank it, hard. Such a dog towing, barely did a tandem Jetski trailer without being embarrassingly slow up hills. 5,500lb tow rating, 190hp/ 245ft my ass. Maybe the older 4.3s lol :D

Well maybe my 4.10 is what makes the difference, it's a 4x4 so they probably wanted to give it more oomph.
And I barely get 18mpg.
I towed the smurf mobile on a trailer many places, also my c10 truck, my 3 suburbans and a Ford e450 cutaway van without the box but a stake bed with a chalet shell and a few transmissions in it instead.
Up hills on every one of these vehicles

Add 37" tires an NV4500, double transfer cases and it's even a bigger dog on the road, on loose hillclimbs it just gives up and bogs. Hopefully an extra 75hp will keep the RPMs up. I'm lucky if I get 10mpg.

My engine is fairly stock, but I do have a "tuned" LS style computer upgrade on my 97.

If I decide to keep my Jimmy and build it for off road I might be talking to you about the upgrade on the computer. :waytogo:

Don't do it, more of a pain than it's worth, plus with the EPA crackdown it would be even harder to get any custom tuning done. I was having an odd issue that I thought was being caused by my computer, turned out it was just a bad MAF. I had already had the old one tuned how I liked it.

If I remember corectly they are deaver 2" front lift springs for a first gen bronco.

They're 175 lbs/in spring rate
