Atleast I have a garage this build :doah:

Yeah white helps big time. Wish the original part had more lights, but its not to bad.

Got a new pump, swapped it on just now. This one has the return line, so I hooked it up after making sure she pumps. Hopefully it lives tomorrow.

Got Er fired up, broke cam in. Still have to tune it a bit. Seems snappy, good oil pressure. Have a few minor things to do yet. But I did drive her in/outta the garage though, I'm sure my neighbours enjoyed it :haha:

Well tied up some loose ends. Fixed heater motor wiring. Filled the carb with seafoam for a while. Seems to help it idle w/o massively flooding. Don't think it's a permanent fix . Went and traded some parts as well

Took it for its first drive. It shifted solid into reverse and drive. But only has first gear going forward. You can manually shift it to second but it drops back to first. Than when I came home it shift into reverse and slipped a few seconds and its gone. So now I'm at a crossroads.

Prob will look at linkage, govenor and vacuum modulator a little closer.

That's probably the best looking grille they ever put on those trucks. :thumb:

Yes sir :waytogo:

Had to do some modifying for a couple of the brackets. For the most part it was a direct bolt on. Outer grill mounts I had to drill the holes. Dimples were already there for them.

Refresh my memory please, because I don't feel like looking back. Isn't this an '80 model with the square headlights originally?

Sure was. The egg crate grill had seen better days. On park lense was smashed out, re pops are worth more than the truck :haha:

Looks good Jesse!
Sucks about the trans hopefully not to hard to get going. :dunno:

Happy Birthday! Neers! :thumb:

Gave the guy a call who intially put the rear end together in the Beaumont a call tonight. For the low price of $650 he will rebuild the turbin 350. Using b&m kit. Also another $140 to rebuild converter. Not sure at this point if ill rebuild it or get new.

This wasn't part of the budget, but I kind of expected it. Could be worse :waytogo:

Dude. You can rebuild a TH350 yourself. I rebuilt a TH400 last summer. It wasn't too hard. A few special tools were needed, but I was able to improvise. The rebuild kit was under $150 USD and a factory rebuilt B&M torque converter was under $100, maybe $60 (I think). Just get a shop manual off eBay or somewhere so you can see how to do it and what the proper tolerances are. You have to measure the endplay and use shims to get the input shaft to act right. If I can do it, I know you can. It's worth a try at least. I mean what else are you going to do this winter while it's snowing outside? :D Look at the experience you'll gain, plus you'll save over half the money you would spend. Unless you just don't feel like doing it...
