The gave away a socket set :haha:

Tinkered a bit with the k10, fixed the exhaust. Added a couple hangers, tweaked the tail pipes so they don't stick out and are level.

Pulled door panels last night, as you can see from the attached picture there is a bit of work to be done. Not sure if I'm gonna smooth everything completely. Will see how motivated I feel.

Got the pass side door smoothed out and primed.

Got the GMC tailgate off that 74 the other day, forgot the subtle differences between a gmc and a chevy tailgate. digging the look with the gmc embossed in the upper left corner :woot:

No pic worthy updates, started on the body now. Took the drivers side as far as imma go.
Cleaned up the new fender, filled some dents, primed. Put it, and the hood on. Splashed some color on the underside of the hood and fenders.....all I gotta say I she is gonna glow.
 
That's a heck of a lot more than most guys on this forum ever do as far as body work. I say call it a day and start driving it.

Heck yeah man. What a great wedding truck it will be. I remember when I got married, I decided to drive off in my '85 since I didn't want the newer truck that was my DD to get shaving cream and stuff all over it. The '85 was stock back then, so the new wife was able to climb in it in her wedding dress. :haha: A couple of months after that, the lifting and modifying of the old truck began! Ironically, it still had blue writing from the wedding on the front right fender for years afterwards. It just wouldn't come all the way off. :haha:

It was actually her idea........ Atleast makes me think this wasn't a whole waste of time.


Also forgot another important piece, found a warn 8274 grill guard. Friend of mine bought it only for the winch. It's for an 81 up, but I can't see much being different?
 
I think the frame width is the same but the holes for the bumper brackets are different. You'll just have to drill some different holes. Hopefully at least one on each side will line up for you so it will be a lot easier to drill the other ones right.
 
Well got some more parts, a dana 44/12 bolt combo with 373s. 6/8 lug outers, flat top knuckles. All for a case of coors light.

Long term plans, rebuild the 44. I can milk the flat top at work. Switch to X over. Swap my sf 14 bolt out of the 83 to 6 lug, it has 373 gears. I also have the gov loc out of my 97 Sierra to put in it.

It won't be this year, but in the next year probably.
