I've always had a soft spot for the 2 doors since having a 93 in High School and I knew it was only a matter of time until I had another
A good friend of mine had a 97 and I told him if ever wanted to sell it that I would buy it. Here we are a couple years later he decided to sell it and with full support of my roommate (wife) we made a deal.
It's a 97 Sport with 143K on it, bone stock with records back to the first owner in 97 including the window sticker from the dealer. The transmission was rebuilt and only has about 10K on it. It needs some of the gray paint touched up (fender flares and grill) however there isn't a single dent on it anywhere.
The tires were shot, cracked side walls and I found a huge bulge on the RR tire when I pulled them off. So I've been looking for some wheels for the last few weeks and stumbled upon these 17x9 with near new Nitto Terra Grapplers
Cleaned them up and popped them on last night
Still trying to figure out the rim manufacturer, they PO told me Mickey Thompson but I can't find an MT rim with a two bolt center cap like these ones have
In the next couple days I need to:
1) Change the oil/filter & fuel filter
2) Swap out the idler arm (done 11/2015)
3) Smog it
4) Replace the steering wheel position sensor (might be OK after idler arm and bearing replacement 11/2015)
And the roommate thinks this is her new wheels
but I think she'll get over it after learning the comfort of this rig is nowhere near the 02 she drives now.
