'99 4 Door Tahoe SAS Build, Taking it back a few years

I think you must be looking at the prints my dog made?

Anyway, the high yesterday was 61 degrees. today's high is 25 degrees and 3 inches of snow and ice this morning. And with that, this Saturday the high is predicted 68 with a low of 57. Got to love it.

Wonder how that little foot would feel up your ass? (in my best Texas voice)

Lol, yeah they must be the pooches. From the blazer bash pics I didn’t think you were a small dog.

Anything new happening with the Tahoe?
Not really. I haven’t had time to spend on it here lately. Hydro assist is the next upgrade, but It’s got some issues that are going to need attention soon. The transmission has had its moments here lately. It quit wanting to pull after running for a few minutes. I’d shut it off, fire it back up, then it would pull a little more and quit. I changed the fluid and filter, and now it’s shifting and pulling fine. The filter didn’t look that dirty, but must have been because the thing is acting fine now. With that being said, I can’t be confident in it even though that was about 1500 miles ago. I hate to just give it a rebuild when it still works, so im planning a couple of wheeling trips at the off-road park close by the house to try to get some reaction, and if it’s still pulling I’ll drop the pan again.

Interesting...my buddy has a 99 that has been parked for two years because of the trans not working. Was apparently rebuilt just before he bought it.
Is yours a 4l60e?

Yes, its the stock 4L60E.

No engine codes showing up on yours?
My buddy thinks it an electrical problem with his. I don`t. I think his is on its way out or maybe like you did,the filter could be a problem.
He tends to drive things till they just don`t work!? :doah:
I know that the 4l60e we had rebuilt for my daughters Trailblazer would work in reverse and the first three gears great, but no overdrive. His worked sometimes but then would decide not to work, then it would again. The last time he drove it just to park it out of the way it wouldn`t reverse.

I`m just going to follow along with what you find with yours? Maybe I could buy his Tahoe for cheep! :haha:

Nope, no engine codes.

Well what do you think transmission experts? It’s still pulling, but I don’t think it will much longer.

If it were a manual trans you would not be worried about it. Just sayin....

j/k - not much there so I wouldn't think it's horrible but I really have no idea.

I've seen worse run for a long time, but it's not my vehicle and it's your peace of mind.

That’s after only 2500 miles of on road use. This is the second time for me to drop the pan in the last 3 months. It quit pulling before and I change the filter and all seemed good. But now It’s got a shutter it does between 3 and 4 at low rpm. So I dropped the pan just to check. The pics are what I found.
