I have to say that steering brace looks way beefier than the bolts that mount it in! beefcake! :)

Yeah, I may have went a little overboard on that thing. :doah: It turned out to be like an 8 pound steering box brace. :haha:

So driving soon?

As soon as you head over, we should be able to do some wheelies shortly after. :woot: No really, you should head over soon. You can figure out what the hell else I need for the th400. :pimp:

Sweet brace!

I see your still sporting the Jesus boots too! :pimp:

Thanks Deaner...:waytogo:

Just remember, Jesus was a carpenter too. :smile1:

Every new part looks better with at least 3/4" worth of washers stacked up under the bolt heads!!!! BTDT. :)

I'm glad that you are off the couch, sober, and wearing pants.... some of your recent text messages had me genuinely worried about your well-being.

:haha:

I have no clue where the hell I put those damn bolts. I've built the arsenal of bolts here with the usual 1/4,3/8, 1/2 and some 3/4. I had to go on a special run for the 7/16. I bought two of each size just for this project. I really should cut down to a 12 pack or so when I'm building stuff. :D

On the other part.... You're a smart guy. You should really find better suited friends to hang with.... I bet it would reduce your incoming drunk texts by ~95% or so. :dunno:  :haha:

Those aren't washers Greg, those are shims. :haha:

Read the post above....I bet your incoming would be reduced too. :doah: :pimp:

He may have been able to carve out a table and chair, but Jesus couldn't weld worth a sh¡t!

See, I'm following in his steps quite well. Lol

Good Days, I say.... :pimp:

Called the repair shop and the welder is done. Some kind of bad control board or something... The best thing is, It's free... :woot: Came under some kind of Miller warranty as it was just in there.

Installed all the bolts for the engine crossmember last night. Pretty much a pain to get a drill between the springs and frame, but enough cussing got the job done. :waytogo:

Front end is ripped apart as we speak, should have the front frame crossmember done by noon or so and start to put everything back in properly. Every bolt, nut and washer. Jumped a bunch of steps *(wrong bolt length, missing washers) during the mock up.

The attempt is to move from the front to the back, finishing everything along the way.

Would love to have the front frame work done by the end of the day or so.

Taking it apart, you would crap if you seen how many fabbed parts are just between the front crossmember and bumper. It's been awhile since I've been in that area and I was really surprised.

Gotta go get the welder and push on. Was just pretty excited to get my glue gun back. :saweet:

Damn right guys. Turned out to be the mother board again. Last time it cost me 404.00 to replace. This time nothing. Glad I didn't need to pay this time....but the thing should not have went out either.

I'm back home with it now. Came inside to grab a bit to eat them heading out to glue some stuff together.

Serious question.... Knowing I'm going to put everything together to drive this thing for a bit to figure out all the things that I did wrong before I paint it, would you guys use any thread lock on the million bolts that I have put this thing together with? I have used red on stuff like the 4 bolt area and some other areas that I know will never come apart again. Just not sure If I should go that route for the time being before it all gets blown apart again???

Maybe on the final use flange bolts and nuts or pinch nuts??

Good deal!

Ok so you are bolting it all back together... is that for the last time, or does it all get blown apart again for paint!?

And get to work...no need to hasell a poor farmer about his saw. :haha:

So since it's being put together to drive and then taken apart to paint I don't think I would. I wouldn't use red, blue yes but not red. Blue is 242 in the loc tite brand. I wouldn't use red at all right now.

But it might not be a bad idea to not use it at all to see what shakes loose. That can indicate something that needs changed

Blind Focker.....:doah: :pimp:

Thank god you operate that big machinery out in an open field where you can't run anyone over... :thumb: :waytogo: :haha:

Dam it! :doah:

My comp is being so slow I didn't see your above post!

Carry on....

Sure, blame the equipment. lol :D

I like the idea of not using anything and seeing what happens. I'm going with your idea Eric. :waytogo: If I kill some nuns or puppies....it's on you now. :pimp::pimp:
