Minor set back on the air cleaner i got a bad batch of primer, so it didnt set up .but it will come off with lacquer thinner.

Well I Stripped off most of the bad primer

Sprayed some new primer

Pretty sure all the black items on our trucks were painted satin black.

there is some paint that is called "trim black" and it is perfect... there is some available at the auto parts stores, or for the "good stuff" you can get it at an auto paint supply store... you will be pleased...

Well its finished.
its finaly painted and reassembled.i will get a picture of it under the hood tomorrow,i have to get a new airfilter.I am still waiting on my stock decals from www.fillingstation.com.

well the aircleaner looking good was pretty short lived.i got my stickers in the mail yesterday so i go to pull the aircleaner off.and there are spots that discolored and the paint chips way to easy any suggestions.

What kind of spray paint did you use? I used VHT steel wheel primer and paint on mine and it's tough and doesn't chip. I'll post the p/ns I used when i get home from work. That sucks.

It looks good on there though.

At least you found out you had bad paint before you put the sticker on, right?

yah i didnt put the sticker on yet

i used rustoleum,ive Never had a problem with rustoleum

is there anyway to get the old paint off beside sand blasting it again

what i think the problem is for the discoloration is the hood sound deadener is falling apart.

i might go pick up a mask tomorrow and throw a tarp over my fenders and rip that stuff out
