All things Drag Racing.

Bummer that Fin blew the hemi. It only had a couple passes. Also found it interesting that Tony Angelo is co driving. He did famously bench press the trans back when Fin won the event. Just wonder what the people at MT think. Tony out, Alex Taylor in at hot rod garage and Fins got his own you tube show with Tony riding shotgun.
Tony has his own Youtube channel now too. Calls it "Stay Tuned". Working out of his shop in Pottsville PA...

Mark was saying they ran it out of fuel at the big end and did the Hemi no good at all. Lean is mean, and they were real mean to it!

Bring the kids to Drag Week...duh!! :waytogo:
It crossed my mind, they have been to the track enough times when the family races, don't think they need to miss school for this at their young age.

Besides, Dad kind of wants to roam around and check out all the cars and talk to people, and they are small enough they'll just want to play with other little kids and I think all of my cousins kids will be in school since most are only ~45 minutes away from Byron.

I watch some of Tony's channel. I like it but not many of his projects have really caught my attention yet. Giving it time.

Not surprised Blasphemi blew up, after all it's the " speed parts killer" but it would have been fun to see some more passes. At least I know there will be a Finnegan's garage episode coming with a parking lot engine swap, which to be honest is why we watch half of this stuff anyway.

Going through the 6 hour coverage

And photo for attention. Any of us may be cool, but never as cool as Willie Borsch smoking hides and one handing a bus steering wheel on 90” wheelbase cool

I remember watching that car run at a Hot Rod Reunion at Bandimere when I was in high school. That guy went as much left and right as he did go straight. He never lifted. Such an animal behind the wheel.

Pic dump this morning…
Talked w Jason Tabscott, his run a 8.64, he said he wants to run again but after the piston thrash last week, he thinks he probably shouldn’t.
Also talked w Pepsi Joe, what a cool guy. Said he hasn’t run the car since last year Dragweek.
Now that MT has taken over the swag sales…t shirts went from 22 to 30-35$. Fok that.

Pretty hard core group. there was a suv full of them with a couple swede flags flyin on it too.

That's my cousins race car shop my uncle started well over 40 years ago. That's where they built the dragster I showed above, and the cobalt, and the Cavalier, and countless other drag cars over the years. They do a lot of backhalves too.

My Uncle started racing at Byron when he was 15. On a normal points weekend many of the cars their have Folk Race Cars stickers on them because so many were built there. My Dad was Byron "track champion" one year when I was pretty little.

My Volcano Manifolds sign wasn't near as visible as the Folk Race Cars sign, they had a good sign location for the day!
