I remember the wire wheel area @ Martin dragway. A dedicated area for the top fuelers to pit and start pushing from @ the finish line area. An opening in the guardrail is where they would come on the track with their push vehicle giving them a 30-40mph push and then hitting the brakes while the driver let out the clutch for a push start. Kinda cool to have seen that back in the early-mid 70’s. Wasn’t long and they required starting line starts and reversers in all the cars.

Its based on the Boss 429 design, this one over 500 c.i., but its about as much Ford as the nitro burning hemis are Chrysler.
