My youngest back in the day on the 24 volt Doom Jeep. She's 24 now...ooof!
Exactly why I put a bigger 12 volt battery in ours. Longer life, same speed. They’re terrorists as it is.
The little one was a 6V single motor model, bought another quad on clearance for $40, took the motor from it, made the thing dual motor and then put it on 4S LiPo at 16.8V. Then she flipped over backward so I built the wheelie bar. That little thing was a tank and those motors are still going with my cousins son.
The big one was a 12V model I put on 4S, then put on 6S (25.2V) for the go fast stuff. I tried giving it traction with big rubber bands, but it stripped the gearboxes on the first battery pack. Bought new gears online and did not do that again. I also didn't put the 6S in very often because I thought she would eat through the plastic tires.
Then I swapped the dual motors to the other clearance quad (spiderman version) for my son to pop wheelies when he was still 1 year old. Then he watched his two older sisters and basically skipped the 12V and went straight to the 50cc quad when he was 2.
Currently they are 6, 8, and 9 years old.
My son has already asked if he can race at the track someday.

Just a heads up if anyone does something similar. For ~$5 you can buy LiPo alarms. You plug them into the balance connector on the battery, and it beeps real loud when the battery gets low. I was always around when they rode them, it's not worth risking that, because if the battery gets real low and they keep going it could catch the battery on fire. You can not just wire the battery connectors in and let them go ride with the LiPo.
