All things Drag Racing.

Well today he got it down to 14.002!!!
We pulled the right headlight out and then the stock airbox.
We didn't bring E torx sockets to pull seats! :haha:

Had a great time, with many compliments on the sound of the exhaust and how much he had improved over the summer. And considering that he had the heaviest vehicle in the 14.0 class and was the only one who couldn't run a faster ET, he feels pretty good! The red S10 won the 14.0 class, but he also set his personal best today with a 12.98.
So he had to work to slow it down and be consistent.
The black standard cab could run in the 12s and was in the 13.0 class. He was still learning his truck and we believe that we all helped him learn a little. He ran a total of 55 times in the 2 days of racing!

That's awesome, glad he had fun!

Those weren't the words I used, but hey

Love the color on that Camaro

And another 4 door Fairmont, weapon of choice for a lot of these DnD types

I finally went drag racing all weekend. It's hard being in Super Pro with a street car I only race a couple times a year or less, racing against mostly dragsters in the 4s, there was one dragster there dialed 3.82! The fastest door car was a 69 Camaro running 4.30.

I double entered sat and got to 4th round. Lost to a dragster because I missed the tree and I broke out when the air got cooler.

Then Sunday I got no time run because I was there the day before, first run I broke out again, then I dropped my dial .01 from 6.24 to 6.23, and then went and did the same exact thing, duh, if you are going to tap the brake right at the end the same way, I should of dialed to do the same thing. I tapped the brake (killed 3-5 mph) and ran a 6.222, so what do I do, dial down to only 6.23 and then go tap the brake again and run a 6.221, duh! If I had dialed a 6.22 I would of won that round. oh well, had fun, my cousin Brian got down to 6 cars in the ole Jimmy he bought for cheap and is fixing it up, he left the dragster at home since it was only $5k to win. It was fun watching him win against 4.30 supercharged dragsters in a Jimmy. Even the announcer said after he got down to 6 (he had the bye to the final if he won that round because he had a .004 reaction time the round before),

"I've seen Brian Folk win in a lot of different cars here at Byron Dragway, but a Jimmy?"

He enter the Jimmy in both box and no box, he kept removing it and putting it back in each round. So one round top bulb next round bottom bulb, I don't know how he does that, I can't even be consistent going off the same bulb every round. The next day he was out with his Folk dragster going 4.50s@150s again for the $10k, along with Nick. They didn't get the door cars out from the top of the trailer for a $10k. Now they are on their way to Alabama for a $500k race.

I had fun, car was running good, I was always in it so I didn't get any pics of it launching, I felt it barely lifting the wheels on motor passes, I don't spray during a bracket race. Best pass of the day was 6.20 and I was running about 113 MPH or so in the 1/8 that weekend. Air was around 1500 ft, not too bad but not good for October. It's not geared for the 1/8 at all, I could probably leave it in 2nd gear as at just shifts right before the finish line.

My father snapped this pick of my son and I with Brian as the rounds were winding down...

My first run of the day Sunday around 11 AM, no time run...I broke out after killing a few MPH...

Brian in the the Jimmy getting down to 6 cars. His first trip out with the new shocks, says he can go a few more clicks on the compression to stop the bounce now...before he had to add weight to keep it from hitting the bumper, now he took the weight off the nose and just uses the new shocks(Afco). I stopped the video because when the 4.30 dragster took off with the procharger and the zoomies it hurt and I had to cover my ears....

I wish he had more success later but I think the speeds were requiring more aerodynamics than just, “strap F-4 engines on it.”

Balls of steel though.

I had the pleasure of watching these two cars run at my,local, track throughout the years.
The WV Hemi is a beautiful fast car, probably 30yrs + since I saw that car run anywhere.
A friend of mine owns the Rumblefish. Runs low 9’s. He dont thave the cubic dollars to run w the likes of Bartons, but he’s always welcome to run w them and if he can qualify in SS/AH all the better. He runs the car local still.
