All things Drag Racing.

I like the speed holes in the bumper... almost offsets the running boards.

Doug Foley hit the wall w a hard slap like John Force did.

We were watching a big bracket race this summer my cousins were in, and the junior dragsters came on, I told my 7 year old son to see if he seemed interested that kids were racing, and the first thing he said when they took off...

"Those sound funny Dad"

That's my boy!

My cousins never raced them, they just started drag racing real cars on the track when they were ~14 if I recall.

But I can see the appeal to get started early. But a single popper just doesn't have much appeal like a V8 does.

Exactly, it would be a different game if you had a youngin racing, but man that “B&S” single cylinder on alcohol is worse than a mis firing ford!

I watched a full alcohol 5hp Briggs and Stratton carry a full grown fat dude, tires smoking sideways down an entire city block on a go cart once though....

They sound stupid, but they can get with it lol.

John Force “officially “ retired.
In his younger days he made comments of quitting when the car killed him. Now he admits he doesn’t want to go through that crash possibility again. He is still in a doctors care for ongoing recovery from the last crash. He’s more focused on grandkids now becoming the next generation of Force drivers.
He’s had an untouchable career, only out ranked in popularity by Garlits.

Rain out @ Pomona, so qualifying is decided by points, Kalitta ends up #1 qualifier, enough for him to win the championship. Good to see the Michigan team win it again. I got to go through the Kalitta race shop in Ypsilanti years ago. Pretty amazing sights.

Kinda disappointed they didn't just reschedule due to the rain. But congrats to him.

The cost for the teams to stay or come back is really high. They are not allowed to run events Monday through Wednesday at Pomona.

And the banquet is scheduled for tomorrow as well. Easiest to just screw the fans and racers who travel hundreds of miles.
