All things Drag Racing.

Background

I knew Adam when he was in high school, street races and ran Club Clash around him. He is a Sick Week and RMRW announcer. Good dude

Some **** copyrighted the “drag and drive” term and is trying to make users of it pay him each time they put it in print. Adam has spearheaded the push back to challenge the term as generic

Now he’s getting sued

I hope this works out for the owners.

Rockingham Dragway recertification for NHRA with a race next year.

Memphis to reopen. I saw the IHRA finals listed there when watching the PRI feed.

US131 motorsports park, My hometrack is going NHRA next year and hosting the opening race for the countdown to the championship,
Previously ran in Maple Grove, PA. Its a great facility, that was completely torn down and rebuilt in 2000. Its been open since 1962.
Rumor has it there will be a lot of upgrades coming to handle that race. Currently spectator parking would be a challenge, and the Pros will probably need more paved parking as well to accommodate the multi trailers used by the bigger teams. Ive been going to rte 66 raceway every year for the national event, and will continue to do so, but this will be nice having an event of that caliber 40 mi away!

Which one of y'all won the lottery and did not tell us? You must be the deap pockets backing IHRA. They bought another track. Heartland Motorsports park in Kansas.
I guess this answers my question.

In December of 2024 Darryl Cuttell purchased the IHRA from Larry Jeffers and announced it at PRI. Darryl owns a company called Darana Hybrid, which provides a "one source" solution for large-scale industrial and commercial projects. Purchasing a total of 10 dragstrips in his first year of ownership, launching multiple new race series events, raising payouts for racers, giving away TRUCKLOADS of ice to racers at events, adding a record amount of "Member" tracks, new small tire events featuring some big names, and more!

Naming Scott "Woody" Woodruff as the COO in July, Scott's extensive experience in the drag racing world brings a lot to the table for the future of the IHRA.

“The IHRA made adjustments to racing distances...all nitro classes, pro mod classes, MMPS, TAD and TS will run 1/8. All other Pro Am classes will run 1/4 mile. This will help with safety, costs, and fan expereinece.” - Scott “Woody” Woodruff

We are excited to see the IHRA purchasing these tracks, many which have been abandoned, as they work to restore/upgrade the facilities they have acquired. Seemingly going ALL IN for the love of the sport.

With rumors of Atlanta Dragway to be on the list for 2026, what other facilities would you guys like to see brought back from the dead?
