All things Drag Racing.

1/8th mile kinda sucks
I was told by a very reliable source that in years past IHRA ran half track due to an insurance limitation

Another one reopening.

Looks like this was filmed in October last year, but GM just released it today…
Imagine if they could get that 60’ down to 1.20-1.30 range!
Edit….I guess they did w 1.37 60’.

I watched that yesterday too, amazing for a production car on pump gas.

Though I would still rather have the ZR1, I don't want to deal with the batteries and weight in the X.

Not like it matters, I won't buy either, maybe in 15 years I can nab a used one. Or just buy a Z06 then and put turbos on it.

1.67 was the zero to 60 MPH, 1.37 is the time to a 60 ft distance. They can easily be mixed up.
Ok I mistook one 60 for another.
And you can forgive my ignorant mistake since the slip only mentioned the 60 foot number and the interview only mentioned the 0 to 60 number, easy mistake

Its easy to do, most drag racers use the 60 ft, and most car guys that aren't drag racers use the 0 - 60.

The drag strip does not give you the zero - 60 time, because the distance varies depending on acceleration. So you get the 60 ft and 330 ft times but not the 60 mph time.
I had to measure that in my data logger, which is exactly what Chevy did in the end of that video.

The guy I picked up the Demon from sold it to make room for his ZR1X.
By the time you get the allocation from GM and pay them a premium to actually build it... doesn't seem it's worth the trouble.
On the plus side, this guy will race it and will most likely sell it once he's bored of it or something faster is offered.
