Am I loading it too much?

One more reason I'm glad I don't live in Cali...no offense meant of course!

Around here everyone with a pick-up runs at that GVW, then heads over to BD power and hands them the credit card....

Or to avoid emissions, run a 97 or older diesel in your pickup...

(CA emissions are 98 and newer on diesels now...)

as a commercial wrecker driver that got into logs and such, my advice would be call the state patrol, and ask to talk to the officer in charge of commercial vehicle enforcement. Most are more than happy (but, admittedly, not all are!) to help you be sure you are legal, and to explain what you need to do or not do.

and, as someone else said, if you or an employee got in a wreck, even if the other person caused it, there's a good chance it would be impounded and towed to be weighed, and an ambulance chasing lawyer would love to say even with the sticker, you were knowingly well over the design limits of the braking and suspension.
