Another 72 blazer build

good ole crappy 90 amp habor freight flux. My neibor has a few other really nice welders he uses on my stuff when i need strenth or saftey so im covered both ways.

That's not a new way to do the sliders it is the way the build led you. Seems with these trucks you start out with an idea, start it and the truck dictates how it will be.:D Carry on brother you have got good momentum going.

thank bro! and your right on it the truck doing the build im just helping LOL!

One step closer to crossover steering. Now to ship it to sky for machining. Steering kit should be here any day now.

Oh ya u bolt from Diy came in yesturday for the 14 bolt so i should be able to instal the ez inch and move my rear axle back an 1" or 1.5" will have to see how that goes as well as see what shims its going to take.

I didn't mean to get 4wd factory in that pic that were i got the steering kit from sorry the sticker is just from the invoice no kit yet.

got more done yesturday. Got ez inch installed, moved rear axle back 1.5", strapped ubolts on, and then put the tires on. I wanted to see how high see was going to sit in the back. The lady is now on her own two feet back there very cool. I mainly didn this si i could get the hoist out and get the dana in the front. The u bolts arrern't tightn't down yet so they look kind funny but run with it. and i took a pic of the shakle flip because it just looks bad ass!

Not sure how i missed this one but looks like i have to take the shakle flip back off and move it about1" or so forward. the shakle is angled forward not back. I guess you live and learn. Good thing i just bought a bunch of new drill bits!:woot:I'll give me a chance to get everything in line and straightened up anyways to tighten it all down.

Are you sure you don't have the L & R side shackleflips installed on the opposite sides?

The ORD flips are asymetrical, I'm not sure about yours... but swapping sides would be a lot simpler than re-drilling a bunch of additional holes in your frame.

thanks for questioning this greg i talked to joey at 4wdfactory he said that it is actually fine. He looked at the pic as well as did others and the shakle is forward because there is no weight on it. The gas tank, rear seat, tail gate, and alot of metal is gone, inculed any rear bumper. so as soon as the weight starts to come back so will the angle of the shakle. dodged a bullet there!

so i wanted to make sure of this so i put some weight in their.

Still waiting to hear back from sky about my knuckle but this is one step closer.

Alright cage is in the works. Scott at addicted off road in Greeley is going to build me this cage only updated with a back seat bar so the kids can have 5 point harnesses. should be a few months out till everything can come all together between his schedule and me getting the blazer ready to go there but still looking at mid spring. I'm freaking stoked!

Here's the pick of the cage from 5 years ago. He has some up dates but other then that should be about the same.

I can tell by the wallet in that knuckle photo that you haven't been working on 1st Gens for very long......

It should be a lot thinner than that!!!

:haha:

Lol very true!

Greg, maybe we just need to buy a wallet chain :) that's gotta be the trick

The key to a fat wallet is to put your wife throw college for many many many years. Then let her pay the bills and get your self a nice allowance. Thats what i did!:woot:And the wallet chain helps too! LOL

All the parts came in to bolt the front axle down so.

Put the front tires on for a bit so i can start to work on rear perches. I still need to install crossover steering but i just don't feel like messing with the ball joint press so ill play with the back for a bit. It's alot bigger then i thought it would be which is cool. I think it will go up another 1" too i'm guessing with the new body bushing and the tire pressure is low. And yes i know I am going to have an issue cleaning the garage door but i have a plan.
