My GM-Chrysler ratio is getting dangerous
. the 00 Grand Cherokee Laredo that i picked out and was going to be my first rig finally is mine
. Dad is Driving 100+ miles a day and needed a new rig + i was pretty miserable driving the dodge so he went and picked up a 04 Grand Cherokee Laredo 2wd instead of 4wd with 68k miles on it vs the 172k on the 00. Both of them have the 4.0l Straight 6. It of course has a laudry list of problems to deal with.
1.Rear door lock solenoids
2.Spark plugs (a full tune up wouldnt hurt)
3.02 Sensor
4.Both front C.V boots,Some say its impossible, other say it takes 20 minutes? Anyone got experience there?
5/Rear axle is leaking out of both axle seals, diff. cover aaaannnd last but not least the pinion seal
considering just taking it to a rear end shop for that.
6.A.C just went out for unknown reasons
The transmission was just professionally rebuilt with a few H.D options so its down for another 150k or so. Motor is running flawlessly still despite above problems. Dad did tires/alignment at my old shop just a few months ago and i balanced/rotated them at my shop today as well as did new rotors/pads in the rear which were down to metal. I also did a oil change with 5-30 valvoline full Synthetic today. Planning on sticking to full Syn from here on out every 6k. Dad put Brembo rotors up front and new pads just a few months ago as well. Looking forward to really just cleaning this up and being being able to finally enjoy a NICE DAILY DRIVER.
If you count my dodge as a Chrysler (its really a mitsubishi mighty max and chrysler owns a portion of mitsubishi) then im 3-3 on GM to Chrysler products
. Thinking about selling off my dodge and getting a utility trailer to serve its purpose but a hell of a lot cheaper/easier to maintain.

. depends on your skill level. i would mark the nut and the pinion before removal, replace the seal, then tighten the nut back to where it was. but the problem is you will have to hold the yoke from moving when you tighten the nut. that can be hard sometimes. you cant use an impact gun on them unless you want to rebuild the whole thing shortly after.
