Any Beemer gurus here? All fixed and almost road ready.

Hey Rene looking real good cant wait to see it in Sept
Where did you find eagle gt's those are 20 yrs old arent they?

Just so you know, I'm one of the two engineers at Vorshlag. :waytogo:

Sorry, no price hookups (company policy), but I can help guide you or give you any tech help you need.

And you are right about the caster. The E36 and E46 can use as much as you can give it.

That's awesome! I'm assuming Terry Fair is the other engineer there? I have spent countless hours reading up on the Alpha E36 build, and more time than I care to admit on the Vorslag site...:doah:

No big deal on the price hook-up, that's totally cool. Much cooler to have a direct person to talk to about future plans. Car suspension is definitely new to me, although I have a lot of the basics down I know there are specific things the E36 will respond well to (that I don't know anything about... :haha:).

The eventual plan is a 525 hp LS3 crate, T-56, street bruiser, part time corner carver. One of my big ???'s is ideal rear end set-up. Being a 318 I'm assuming it has the 168 mm diff. Did the M3 come with the 188 mm diff, and if so is that gonna be enough diff to survive? Any aftermarket half shafts that will survive?

I wouldn't mind pm'ing you if you're cool with that?

Nah, they still make em but they look a ton different than the old gatorbacks they used to be. Asymmetrical pattern now...the seem to hook pretty good on the street. Of course the mighty 1.9L 4 can't even make em bark. I got a bad cam position sensor that might have a bit to do with that though.

Yes, you can PM, but I'll probably move it to company email. And also yes, Terry is the other engineer.

Is your car a 318 or a 318 Compact? Our original Alpha car started as a four cylinder with an auto. As long as it has E36 rear suspension it can be upgraded with bolt ons. And yes, I'd definitely move up to the bigger rear end. They are cheap and easy to find.

If you've got a Compact, you've got a world of hurt in your future. They have an E30 rear suspension with trailing arms. They are weak, lack adjustment, and will require massive fabrication to just keep them from breaking. There really is no good solution to fix the geometry issues in the rear end. Take a look at our GRM2000 challenge car to see what we had to do to the rear end and subframe to make it work behind the V8.

Don't suppose you make suspension parts for the W211 Mercedes?

I'm going through some challenges after lowering my car (can't get car within spec due to lack of adjustments)

We can talk via PM or company email so I don't crap up Rene's thread. :thumb:

No, no Mercedes parts.

We make parts for cars that are likely to be on a race track. 3-Series BMW, Mustang, Mini, Miata, Subaru, Mitsubishi EVO, and a few more.

It looks like the IS, I think the compact is their hatchback version...

Awesome you're with vorshlag...been thinking about some suspension upgrades for my e46 M..........!!!

Yeah, it's an "is" coupe, not the "ti" (aka trunk impaired :D)

M44 1.9 and a 5 speed.

Cool to see Vorslag represented here, probably the last thing I expected. That's right up there with finding Stephen Watson on Bimmerforums...:D

I'll be sure to be pm'ing/emailing you soon.

Rene check out Vette IRS for some ideas
I had my 8.5" professionally beefed and built to hold 550hp
The newer stuff is even more stout
Maybe some ideas there for ya?
