Any draw backs running the 52"/56" combo

That is correct.

With the stock shaft the c/v binds

High Angle Driveline 1ton C/V shaft still binds but suspension travels a little farther before it happens.

High Angle Driveline 42 degree shaft no more binding but now pulls apart at the slip. The c/v is so big and much longer than the 1ton c/v. so you are not able to run a long slip shaft in it.

My solution was to install a doubler to lengthen the driveline. Not done yet but looks like it will work great.

with 1410's and tom woods super flex joints with no CV, long slip, you arn't going to have binding issues. You can make a superflex and 1410s have nearly 45deg angle b4 binding.

or you could just build a shaft like this and hove no problems...i know its sitting on a doubler in this pic but you can get 42 * of angle outta this shaft..single cardian as well

care to give spces on that driveline?

IIRC its a 1410 square driveshaft similar to mine (though I used larger square tube).

The square driveshaft thing has been covered several times on here and I've responded in a bunch of them, you can search through my username.

my k20 came w/ 56s in the rear and I put 52s on the front w/ custom hangers and shackles. broke my long travel front drive shaft - so I built a square one. I agree with 38377k5 about approach angle loss. I run the worst possible combo for front d-shaft length issues - 465/205/d60, shaft length @ ride height is about 24" :eek1: u-joints don't bind and it doesn't pull apart. also running 14" stroke bilsteins (and use 13.5 inches of travel) on custom upper mounts.

Yes you. Now back to my original post if you are running an SM465/NP205 you WILL have driveshaft issues. The front shaft is already really short, add lots of suspension droop and it will bind.

This is the setup i am running and i have not had any probems and to make it worse i have a 5.3 which moves my trans another 1.5 inches forward, i have maxed out my springs with no binding

Nice flex out of those bad boys. That picture is enough to get me started on the swap!

Thanks for the link brother! I actually found this the other day after hours of searching this web site. Good stuff.

heres a video of mine drooping, but not maxed out.. 56s on the front with a boomerang shackle, duel shocks and 4.5 inches of lift..38 inch tires.
for some unknown reason I get zero spring wrap.
