I wouldn't want a 160MPH in a K5. You would only use the left half of the gauge. It would be inherently less accurate at the speeds you actually drive, plus harder to read since the scale is smaller.
OK, I've had to "guess" at my speed over 85MPH before. You could calculate speed based on the tach, but you can't take the time. I'm not sure it helps to know the exact speed when you approach triple digits anyway.
