Anybody have a picture of a unicorn?

I've seen many 203s but never with a slip yoke. Even divorced 203s lol......Local yard had the 833/208 combo, couple at one point, but not too many squares in yards anymore....
i dont know were 1 of them divorced 203 units went ?

FWIW I don't see listings in the '73-84 parts manuals for anything other than a fixed yoke 203. There is only one part number for the output shaft and output shaft housings.

Crap....

(desperate) I swear I’ve worked on one! (sweating)

Shoot, I was going to look it up on some GM microphiche I have but it’s only 85-91.

You can double check me if you like, the link to the download page is in my signature. You'll need the two though, since the 203 run spans the '73-84 manuals.

No np203 in slip form that ive seen and Ive had 5 or 6 of them, but i did have a np203 with a cast iron rear bearing support out of a 73.

73 was a cast iron rear. I think 74 was too but not totally sure. I read up a lot on 203s many moons ago. Always fixed yoke.

Across the board too, Ford Dodge and Chevy

@Capt Ron the auto hubs are convenient but not reliable as the will fail at some point. There is a bonus though, auto hub 1 tons have a synchronized 205 for “shift on the fly”. The downside is you have to swap the shift fork assembly to do a 32 spline front output upgrade.

Are the auto hubs worth anything? I have seen them and thought, "those are undesirable"

Well I poked through the manuals some and didn't find anything. Maybe I had too much to drink... :screwy: :doah::dunno:

It was a long time ago too, like 87-88. It's funny how you think you'll never forget certain things or moments and then 20+ years later you're babbling on a forum about stuff that doesn't appear to have existed. :zombie18:

Been thinking about this mythical creature, and I just realized why the previous owner busted the trans housing on the 76 K20 I bought 20 years ago.

Had a 203 in it with a one piece rear driveshaft, no slip in the ds or tailhousing. Can't believe this dawned on me after 20 years. I still remember having to pull the rear springs to drop the driveshaft. lol

Feel a bit dumb for never realizing this until now. Fixed it with ath350, np205, and new shaft from a different truck without even knowing it was the problem.
