Not a bad looking truck from the pics. If I was going after it I'd be looking closer for all the normal rust these trucks get. Sounds ok on the video but it did sound like he had the other one running at the same time. Or at least it did to me on my phone.

The trusses on both axles have me wondering what the goal was behind that. Jumping? Pulling? I'd look at the quality of the welds to give an idea of how strong they really are. The rear one hangs down way too far for my taste. Either way look the frame over to see if it has been hammered hard or not.

Not sure if I'd go $5500, but that is less than others I've seen on Craigslist for a big block 4x4 square.

As always look over in person before committing.

Or get one of the northern Co guys to go with you if you are serious. @Bent77 or @mrk5 are up there. Either of those two can sniff out the bs if there is any.

Thanks man. The trusses are a little weird for sure. I think I'd prefer a short bed anyhow. Just drooling at 454 + manual + clean looking body pickup...

I like the proportions of a lifted long bed, and this truck looks pretty solid. i'll echo that the trusses would have me looking at this a lot closer underneath, and if it were mine I'd remove the trail plows. You just hope the guy wan't a big "Fall Guy" fan you know?

Exhaust, on my laptop it sounds like it has open headers. If not IMO it needs way more exhaust components like actual mufflers.

Look decent enough. Ask him if he's a member here, two squarebody chevys he could be a lurker.
What's with the hate of those trusses, those are the ultimate mall crawler status there....

he needs to back the truck up 30ft and turn it sideways in the driveway and re-shoot the video . ya to much shadows that are possibly hiding stuff . not saying he is but possible .

oh ya and no one said it yet so ......... turn the phone 90* for videos :deal:

73-80 front bumper
headlights look wierd and foggy each one is a different color of chrome or fog white
whats up with the driver exhaust pipe hanging WAYYYY down ?
sway bar has no bolts in the front suspension pic . laying down on the axle
front leafs look to be about or on the frame rails at the rear shackles . bad bushings and or worn out bushing mounts for shackles .

i almost think its a pair of buddys with left over stuff trying to flip a pile of parts for cash . but i could be wrong .

looks like tilt steering... can't make out the release knob for sure in the picture.. .those are notorious for being worn out... as well as a dash cover.. .dash pad is probably trashed.

interior looks rough,, that coupled with the hack job axle trusses, unbolted sway bar, "racing" clutch, , I would definitely be suspect and look it over carefully before agreeing on a price..

5500.00 is a little steep for the condition it's in...

I was thinking the same thing, total Fall Guy truck. I was looking for the secret hiding spot in the bedside like the tv truck. But it screams I'll jump it with the trusses.

You tube The Fall Guy. Notice the trusses below..

You can see the tilt lever in one pic. In another you can see the lump for the auto trans shifter on the other side of the column. So it's probably either swapped for the tilt to a manual truck or manual trans swapped to auto truck.

1) Is it the original 454? Anytime you switch cams or screw with the engine, it detracts from value, instead of adding to it, in my opinion. Unless you're Reher and Morrison or something.

a) No fan shroud. Why?

So, if it is the original engine, then you're looking at a rebuild or a replacement. i don't know how much it costs to rebuild a big block cos i don't mess with BB's.

If it is NOT the original engine and it's supposedly "a beast," then why selling? i know, stuff happens---new additions/"happy accidents" etc., but in general......

A little high, but not super-overpriced.

Na... Everyone has a "racing clutch"
Along with "3/4 race cam, slapper bars, 750 DP, and 2 1/4 dual exhaust for more performance."

The 30/30 race cam is much better than the 3/4 race cam.
Why all the hate for old school terminology?
Describes my buddies 55. 283 with a Duntov 097 cam, 750dp, 4spd with a borg and beck racing clutch, 456's, a posi, and slapper bars. Had Hooker headers with Corvair turbo mufflers, but just changed to open fenderwell headers.

He's currently building a 327 with ported and polished camel hump 202 heads and a 30/30 cam. Probably be doing dual quads with a pair of 500 AFB's.

Ran low 12's, should be high 11's with the new motor.

Retro racing may not be as fast as the new tech, but the old stuff brings back the childhood feelings and memories.

It's not hate for the terminology. I was making a joke, of the probably 100s of vehicles I've looked at. Every truck has a "RV cam" or a racing clutch. Only to find out it dead stock. Or someone says I got a 750 DP only pop the the hood and find a Carter 600 CFM AFB.
Point being, if this truck had a racing clutch I would have to see it to believe it .
;)

Guess I'm just being sensitive today. Lol

I'll go drink some cranberry juice and shut up now. :D
