Anybody heard of a "desert fox edition" K5/jimmy?

that starcraft interior is awesome.nothing like having the comforts of your living room in your center console.looked to have about 10 surround sound speakers also.i think that has a better amount of electronics than i do now in my living room.just needs a bigger screen tv and id live in that sucker,and watch my magnum p.i. haha.

yea....so just gonna throw this out there lol....
are you gonna buy this thing??

:haha::haha::haha:

57 post to get around to the question. Man we really derailed this thread :doah:

ahhh, smokey & the bandit has to be burt reynolds best flick, w/stroker ace coming in a close 2nd! that black T/A burt drove has to be the single most desired car by men as a whole! who wouldn't want 1...theres a guy local who has an original smokey & the bandit T/A...apparently gm offered a bandit clone optioned car...just like the T/A in the movie down to the cb!

i would jump on that dessert fox k5 quick, if its for sale & restore it...it has to be fastly approaching collector status, since they have such low production #'s. i remember the truck from CHiPs...it was a dessert fox edition? i remember it was gold or tan w/wild brightly colored stipes on it... i just bought 1 of those hickey roof racks from another member..cant wait to get back on my projects...that rack will be unique around here.
a guy i was in the army had one of the clone bandits with the bird on the hood and t tops.still had the 455 in it but it was toast,he pulled the engine and ripped it apart.couldnt figure out how to put it back together and ended up selling it for half what he bought it for.i wanted it but already had the blazer.could not part with that.
as for the desert fox jimmy,i would jump on it also if you got the money.restore it and probably double your money on resale value.they didnt make many of them.i couldnt find production numbers when i searched.maybe someone else knows a good site for it.

Don't forget the Rockford Files, where in some of the episodes Jim's dad Rocky tooled around in a really nifty shortbed GMC. Can't find color photos of it anywhere, but there's this b&w magazine article about it over here - pg 1 pg 2

Can't be sure, but this looks alot like it. Can't tell if there is a brush guard, but it does look like there are lights on a roll bar. It's not the stepside, but the furthest rig back.

Derailment / train wreck back on, headed toward the cliff...
..the furthest rig back.
That be it, dark gray with maroon accents. It gained & lost features throughout the show, sorta like Jim's Firebirds when from round to square headlights.

early 1980's show ??????

I vaguely remember a young kid a short lived tv show about either san diego or LA sheriff's deputies. It was a ChiPs type show, that featured sheriff deputies driving black and white blazers. The title I believe had something with "40" in it? I can rember the start of the show when it show a black and white blazer driving fast by the camera. Damn... I wifh I new wha tthe name was.

I'm pretty sure it was 1982 - 85 time frame.

yea and try finding any videos of show. Trivia Eric Braeden the guy who plays Victor Newman in some soap was in it to as a German Nazi
