I'll be starting a project pretty soon and for a cheaper option im thinking bedliner on a roughly 1977 K5 anyone have pics of theirs? Thanks!

Someone one here awhile back was talking about this.

He ended up stripping it off and actually painting it.
But in the mean time he ran it like that 10 years. Started coming off in areas due to abuse and possibly bad prep work underneath.

It's a choice, just like paint. Might or might not be cost effective

Ahh, yeah I wanna get the whole thing dustless sand blasted and bed lined cause the bodies a little rough and figured it would hide a lot. Rust wise it's not bad at all just the dents and dings. I wonder how hard it would be to strip off after a couple years?

Haha I don't wanna go completely ghetto, I don't wanna ruin the nice body style lol

it adds a bit of weight after its all done, you end using quite a bit...its also not all that tuff on outside corners and curves and you can't paint over the scratches. I'm not saying don't do it, those are just things people don't think about. back in the day, my brother had a super duper, swing out tire carrier, stop a charging water buffalo, rear bumper on his suburban that was bedlined..That stuff was gone as soon as he drug the bumper on the first obstacle at the start of pritchett canyon. The bumper got sold as soon as he got home.

I think it rips away any value the vehicle has. Once a truck has been bedlined it's ruined.

Thanks for all the replies! Big Ray unfortunately I'm not premium so I can't see the link. To everyone else, I guess I'll have to find another paint job... maybe CARC olive (or desert) drab lol

Hey that's not too bad! I like the desert sand color, I'll definitely keep that in mind when the time comes. Thanks!
