anyone have bad gas mpg as me?

6 for me if i'm on it. keep your foot outof it and use overdrive and just cruise...LOL

More info is needed. Is your rig carb or FI? Have you recently tuned it up? What gear ratio and tire size are you running? There are many variables that will change your fuel mileage. Give us more details.

6 inch lift 35s my gears are at 3 something the guy told me at 4wheel parts umm replaced distributer cap and rotor and spark plug and wires and its all msd and i also replaced the fuel filter and im also running the highest gas which i think is supreme and its FI

i get 8 mpg... =\ running 33s with 4 inch lift and thats with the ac off going WITH the wind. HAHAHA

If you are FId you should be doing better than that. I get 15 average in my TBI K5 350 700r4 33" MT tires 4" lift 3.73 gears on 87-89 octaine. You may have a bad sensor like the 02 or something. If so the computer goes into limp home mode. The engine will run ok but will usually get bad MPG when that happens. Check trouble codes or put it on a scanner.

I averaged ~12 with my stock (175K) 350 (Q-jet)/SM465 3.73 rear, same mileage with 31's and 33's.

I jumped up to 12-15 with my 383 (vortec heads, full roller) and same running gear. Going to 37's and 4.56's kept it about the same.

IMO: anyone getting less than 10 mpg with a SBC in a K5 has a poor gear ratio for their tire size (sometimes compromised for better offroad performance), a poor running motor or a heavy foot.

....hmmm heavy foot eh. Hahaha

ummm, what tranny? I hope it's not a 700r4, if it is, you've got a major prob...

My '85 K30 gets 5 mpg.

Its doing better on fuel right now because its sitting inside a storage shed in hibernation.

I was getting 3 to 4 with my tired carbed 350, then motor swap to a TBI 350 and now I get 14. That is with 4.10's, 350 turbo trans, Np205, and 37's.

Yep your gear ratio sounds bad, I would shift manually and you probably don't need to touch overdrive or high gear unless you are on the highway.

I get 10 mpg, loaded trailer, no trailer, 4wd, 2wd. & even with the key off.;)

I get about 7 with a tired carb 350, goin to a 6.2 diesel soon and hope to get 20 :D
