In the Washington Park area south east of Denver? Still trying to make a communication connection but it would help so much to have someone put peepers on it. Gas and beer money? :D

I have communication. Still available.
It’s the wagon I’m looking for at a price I can swallow if it’s worth it.

That looks like a nice ride!
The soonest I can check it out will be Saturday morning.

@ZooMad75 are you available to ride along? A second set of eyes are always a good thing and as far as hearing I'm a bit challenged.

I got a plumber coming in Sat morning and my Dad's dialysis at 11:00. I have time after I drop him off but need to be back by 3:30 to pick him up. I'm wide open between those times, though it does depend if the plumber is done at the house, he should be but you never know. If that doesn't work, Sunday is open too.

Email from the seller. What do ya’ll think? (Removed some personal stuff)

Brent, Scott here with (repair shop). My brother owns the company we have 3 locations in Denver. We are not a dealer, my brother has a classic car collection with over 30 cars, and the 66' Chevy II wagon is part of his personal collection. A small portion of our business is classic car builds. Our shop was doing a restoration on a 63' Nova wagon that my brother had owned for decades. He was getting impatient after a few years and $50k into the project, and bought this 66 in finished condition so he could have his Nova wagon. Ironically, we did finish his 63 a few weeks after he bought the 66, and he feels he no longer needs 2 nova wagons.
We bought the 66 in the current condition that it is in. We completely inspected the car about 2 years ago when we bought it and only did 2 minor repairs: replaced a damaged front strut and recharged the air conditioner. The car is driven once or twice a month between the 3 shops, car shows and I personally drove it to a Nova cruise last October although as I mentioned only about 500 miles since we got it. I had it inspected again this week before posting it for sale when we just checked the fluids, cleaned up some wiring and fixed a door handle.
Although I don't know much about the build, I can give you my evaluation as we did complete a similar car. The restoration appears to be about 10 years ago. It was not a frame off, but was complete including running gear, suspension, cooling, electrical, body and paint. The interior was completely redone including painting the dash, doors and sills etc. It has a church boys racing front suspension, built for performance and not comfort. It has front disc brakes with drop spindles. The engine is a gm performance crate motor and has an Edelbrock carburetor, the transmission was also new. It has an upgraded radiator and electric cooling fan. It has performance tires and american racing wheels. It has a custom grille which does require a special tool to open the hood which can be a hassle. The body has very few flaws, a minor crack at the cowl, and possibly some bondo on the right rear rocker panel.
I'm away from the car today, but have asked the crew to get it on a lift and take some pictures and hopefully a walkaround video, as I've had other inquiries from across the country. If that happens I'll send it over. I can show it anytime Saturday by appointment at our Washington Park location (address removed), just let me know. You can also text me with any more questions. Thanks, Scott”

I live walking distance from the Washington Park neighborhood and am happy to help in any way that I can. Ron and Rob will be better scouts but if I can assist in any way let me know!

I’m waiting for some pictures and video he’s talking about. Hopefully he doesn’t promise anything to someone else before we get to look at it. Thanks for the offer. I’m not sure if setting up something for you now would be worth it, unless you’re bored and wanna take that walk anyway :D

Main thing is bondo obviously. Not sure if it’s a CO original car, salted road conditions, etc. some of that adds up to bondo heavy classics. If there is one bondo spot, there are probably others if they didn’t fix rust correctly.

I put a bid in for a roll over 2016 Mustang Ecoboost. No keys, so they probably didn’t start it which is good. Looked like it was very driveable. I watched it sell for $200 more than my $3,000 bid. That drivetrain is the direction I wanna go if I don’t end up with a completed car. Would be so badass and offensive LMAO

I want to see this front suspension he mentioned in the email.

I think a waggy needs tail pipes exit behind the rear wheels. Rear axle/springs looks like stock, from what I remember.

I thought I had a picture up. He’s of course got some other interested parties but I can’t go jumping on something if it’s not right. He needs more pictures for everyone anyway and says Saturday morning is good. Pic porn for now.

Picture dump.
I’m coming to you all because I know nothing about Novas. My C10 was a project, knew that from the start. Wasn’t worried about my $1200 K5, not much of that purchase left. :D But the Nova is a different animal. I’m curious about what Ron/Rob find.

The rack and pinion is a nice update.
Even thou the prats are modern the front suspension is still old design. Adjustments should be much easier.
The weak spot is here where I circled in red. The unibody frame mount hole for control arm bushings wollows out and won't hold alignment.
Globle west had a cure back when I had Chevy II's.

Another thing Chevy II V8 were are front sump oil pans.
This one is not, Iirc the steering linkage went across at the rear of the engine. So the rack and pinion update allowed the normal rear sump pan.

That’s nice.
Chances are I’ll enjoy whatever I get for a while before adding a different subframe and all new updates suspension. Just need something solid for now, can’t deal with a big project. If it needs too much work off the bat, I’ll probably open a can of MAW and start to hate it haha
