Anyone in the Denver area…the Nova hunt continues

When they did their recent "check" and minor repairs, they didn't bother to lube it.

Where are you looking?
“performance not comfort”
Sounds like my C10 set up. Yeah, that multi link front “upgrade” is nice but I wouldn’t track it. Rather it be for comfort :D

Must be an older Church Brothers front end kit. They don’t sell that style with the lower strut rods now. They have a complete tubular lower control arm that eliminates the strut bar.

That isn’t a bad thing it just gives a idea when it was put together. I’d prefer to eliminate the strut based suspension completely and put a complete subframe with mustang II based upper and lower tubular control arms with coil over shocks. But what’s on there is a big upgrade over stock so it’s an improvement.

Looks like a decent car from the pics. I don’t want to hold up the process to wait for me to look at it Sunday if others are looking at it.

Really? It looks the same from their website, lower arm and upper arm. Only difference I saw was the use of heim joints. Looks like the new stuff has a beefier joint, which could be swapped out.

I know, like the CPP stuff on my ‘68, all that lock washer BS has to go. With the front end picture all that hardware is cringeworthy. No bueno

And the seller says he is working Saturday at the shop where the car is, which works out. He asked for an appointment, so I hope it doesn’t get swept up beforehand. Depending what you guys see, I’ll probably fly in next week, maybe 1st or 2nd.

@shima Want to ride along if Saturday is the only day available? Obviously you can tag along Sunday as well if that happens.

The rivets in the inner fender caught my eye. I have never owned a first gen Nova, those factory?

Also the discoloration in the front part of this panel here might have a hidden surprise.

Good catch. He said there was some bondo but he said rear rocker. Was thinking door jam. Is that rear rocker?

I don’t think it’s yellow, it’s a reflection. Same fender, different picture, missing yellow. But this looks like a booger weld on the rocker. But that’s to be expected to some degree.

I just noticed the tire in mounted wrong side out in the rivet photo, lol. No idrc any rivets in any of my Chevy ll wheel openings

Ahahaha it says it right there! Probably still the right direct though. I like the all weather, bi-directional tires on it. :waytogo:

Weather has not cooperated. Some of ya’ll are seeing crazy negative numbers but even at 20F it’s no fun being outside, much less looking at cars :doah::haha:
Snow couple days ago and maybe snow today, high of what?…10? Nope, peace out hahaha

Yeah, it has been brutally cold for a few days here.

Luckily our outlook improves later this week:

What do you locals think about driving this car south on 25 this Thursday/Friday? Looks like dropping down into NM is better than going through UT right now. Never driven in snow or icy roads. Hours of the day to stay off? Dangerous shade etc?
