Anyone know where I can buy drip rails?

My buddy was over this morning with his 67 c10 and the drip rails on it are Factory spot welded to the cab, just like my 85 blazer. All the drip rails on Ebay and other outlets are a Stainless steel trim that clips over the factory drip rail, and that only covers about 95% of the rail. The photos posted by AbramJ shows shows the Factory rail with the Stainless trim

Yeah. I am not having any luck finding new drip rails on the internet. Probably going to have to pull some off of a parts truck somewhere.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the holes to bolt them on might not be standardized. I have 3 Suburbans being used to make 1. The truck I am building had the chrome drip rails. The other two didn't. I undid all those stupid little bitty screws and took a set off the '89 which were body color. I painted them all up and went to bolt them on the '87. None of the 5 drip rails had any screw holes line up. I could start 1, but no others. I held the '87 rails up to the '90 and they weren't close. Neither were the '89 rails on the '90.

I came to the conclusion that the factory must have used the rubber gasket to glue the rails on while a worker installed the screws wherever they felt like on each truck.

If you go junk yard looking my advice is to make a cardboard template of your existing holes and compare it to any truck you think will donate.

I'll just spot weld them on using the holes in the rails if I can't find a set that lines up to the holes in my cab.

Looking at the LMC ones again that drip rail molding retainer may be what I need. Im going to have to call them and see I guess.

My '73 burb didn't have drip rails. I think I read somewhere they were left off for a few years maybe 73-74. I got some off and 80s burb in the junkyard and screwed them onto mine. They were body colored and 1-piece type. A lot of water was getting into the doors and causing a lot of rust. I wouldn't want to be without them again. I say x2 on boneyard hunt. I paid like 5 bucks for them :)
