Attention Husky tool owners

Although it seems to me the ratchets they are making now are junk. I have a ratchet that belonged to my dad that just feels like its better quality than some of the newer ones. But it's lifetime warranty and no reciept

Side not:I heard that Home Depot owns Rigid and all of the rigid line now has a life time warranty too.

same as the phillip screwdrivers... I have an oldie and the tip is great.. you use the new ones and they round out easily..... :doah:

Close. Black & Decker owns DeWalt, but doesn't make their tools. B&D also owns Porter-Cable and Delta now, too.

I remember when Husky first came along at Home Depot, they had a wooden 'coffin' with a plexiglass top, full of broken Craftsman, Snap-on, etc. tools. There was a sign that they would take any broken 'lifetime warranteed' tool, whatever brand, and exchange it for a Husky. Guess those days are over. I have no idea why someone would trade in a Snap-on for a Husky.

I talked with a manager at HD about this awhile back as I remembered seeing these coffins as well. He said they stopped as they had a customer walk in with about 400-500 pieces of craftsman/other misc lifetime guaranteed tools. Since it was a no questions asked swap program, they gave the customer all brand new tools in exchange. That ruined it for everyone. Although, I wish I had thought of that at the time :)

The reason Home Depot was taking back Craftsman tools was because the same company that makes Craftsman makes Husky and I believe they also make some other big name brand tool like Snap-On. Asked the tool area manager at Home Depot and that's how he explained it too me. Home Depot wasnt losing anything in the exchange.

You are correct sir. The same tool maker makes Mac, Craftsman and Snapon I forgot the name of the company but it is true.
