B-52 owners.

That's a good question. Unless the rearward spring hole on the bracket is too far forward, I bet you could use 48" springs(stock length). Kert will respond soon.
 
Yes, the kit was designed so the rear most hole would be as stock. It was done this way just in case somebody wanted to return to factory or for whatever reason.
 
So if one were to keep the rear shackle mount in the stock location and install the B-52's, which springs could you use? Stock's, 52", or 56"?
 
Well you could definitely use 52's.

I am going to try my luck again and say that 56's would work on the very front spring mounting hole, but Kert would have the final word on this.

I hope this is the case it will make my 56 front swap alot easier:D .

My thought is this:

If you look at the spacing among the front mounting holes, it is probably pretty damn close to the additioanl 4 inches you need. If you buy the kit with the extended shackle for the back mount, you should be golden, but again PLEASE confer with the DIY GOD, Kert!
 
I would have to say, the kit won't work for the 56"ers without moving the shackle eye hanger.

If you bolt the bracket set to the frame with the bracket slid rearward,the rear hole is factory, so with that in mind, moving the spring forward in the holes allows for a longer spring to be used at the same time you can correct the shackl angle for a smoother operating spring.

56's have 4" more to the rear which is 8" longer than factory, so I believe you'd still have to move the frame eye hanger rearward in the rail.

It's pretty easy to keep the frame eye hanger in the stock location with 52's and really not move the axle forward much at all. Helps with steering.
 
I am kinda confused and maybe it has to do with not understanding how your bracket works. If you move the stock bracket to the forward end you can run 52s but have to move your rear eye hanger forward but you can run 56s and not have to move the rear eye hanger. You kit appears to move the foward spring eye forward that same amount. If 56s are mounted with the short side forward (the same length side as a 52) I am failing to see why they will not fit. I am kinda slow so dont flame:D

With the b52's and 52" springs there is no need to move the frame eye hanger.

They will fit with 52's as long as you don't mind moving the spring eye hanger further back in the frame. There was some discussion on this a while back. Only difference between mounting 52's and 56's with this kit is moving the frame eye hanger. So, when somebody asks if they will fit, I first say no, since the kit was designed with the idea of not having to move the frame eye hanger.

Ok, I think this answered my question. So I can install the B52's, install a 52" spring in the front and not have to move the rear shackle hanger (which I didn't want to move anyway)?

Correct or no? dam n00bs :doah:

I had already moved my rear hanger mount forward before I got the B-52's. I now have the B-52's mounted in the rear position with the spring in the forward most hole, will this be ok? Any idea as to how much the axle will be moved forward (I'm thinking ~3")?

(I ask this because I can't tell what the final position is since the body isn't on the frame yet)

So the bracketry is pushed forward correct? If that is correct you'll be about 2.25" forward according to the math, give or take a smidge. Your shackle angle maybe to extreme with the mount in the frame moved forward. Good way to measure the axle position is compare to the factory bumpstop location. On our shop truck the spring is in the 3rd hole forward with the bracketry slid foward and the axle is centered under the bumpstop, however, the math says 1.125".

Looking at a stock truck, the bumpstop seems to be a little forward of the axle at ride height, this would tend to comfirm the measurements. Just a comparision.

Sorry I worded that wrong, the bracket is pushed back (I needed the extra space on the frame horn for a bumper bracket).

Then your looking at 1.375" forward. I'm thinking to much shackle angle.
