$1200 is less than half of a standard class entry fee. The b1000 entry is over $3,000 alone. NORRA is over $3000.

A standard Bitd race entry for v2r is $2400, Vintage and jeepspeed is $1200. More and Snore are close to half the cost of a bitd or a score race. There are a couple of Mexican race promoters that offer much cheaper entry fees and put on well organized races as well.

The logistics get expensive as well, hotel rooms, gas for support vehicles, food for the crew, part and fluids, back up parts. Hate to think about it all at one time. If you really stopped and thought about it, you might not do it. By why the hell do that?

This thread is unbelievably cool! Best of luck to you man, this rig is insane! Ill be keeping a close eye on this thread!

The front end of the Blazer is still out, but between house painting, and other homey crap, nothing else on the Blazer has advanced. I have temporarily shifted my focus to getting my Sub operational. I'm in the process of pulling the trans for a rebuild. POS it should have survived a couple of tree yankings !! I ordered a np241 rebuild kit from JB conversions today. The fricking shipping and handling was $27 for normal UPS. No chain, just bearings and seals. It must be riding in a Limo.
I know I shouldn't ask here, but has anyone put a High Angle emergency brake "kit" on their 241?

I have one installed. I wouldn't trust my life with it, but if I ever lost a brake line and it wasn't a "panic situation", if feel comfortable that I could get it stopped. Seems to work pretty well. Check out my "project Chump" in the build section for pics.

I picked up the front end. After getting a new 4.56 r&p and a newish Trutrac, at the Rear End shop in Liverhole. $250 for bearings and seals/ $250 labor. The ring and pinion was a Christmas gift from my engine builder in Pennsylvania. All Terrain Fab (ATF) also in Livermore, cleaned and re-welded housing.
Progress has been slow. I'm almost done making a transmission jack mount for my floor jack, that will work with my Sub, which is 30" off the floor (4L60E) and the Blazer. I will scare people with my fab pics soon.

Here's a crazy one, my friend that raced with me in the 2010 Mexican 1000 called me two days ago to tell me he's changed his mind about the Mexican 1000, he now wants to buy a brand new UTV to run the race, instead of using my Blazer. I was bummed initially, because the Mexican 1000 is a "Vintage" race, but as my son pointed out, if someone is letting you drive their car, you should shut up and enjoy the drive. OK ok, I get it, but I will be continuing to prep the Blazer. It will race again, soon.

Brake other peoples things always sounds like a good time. As long as you don't have to pay for it. Hope you get some seat time in the new UTV before the race.
