Back from Petersen's Ultimate Adventure!

The new motor is good at bumping stuff

It had plenty of power before. I saw the "big bump" on the rockpile and BB04 and some major carnage unfolded I can olny imagine the kind of breakage you could get into now :doah:

I don't think I'll have to worry about the front axle now, the dynatrac housing is pretty beefy and with all the hydro mount stuff welded on I don't think I can twist it. And with Superiors and CTM's I hope the tire contact patch is the weak point.
It also has less sprung weight on the front axle which will help the durability too.

No matter how you slice it, 600 ft-lb right off idle will destroy a lot if not used wisely. "with great power comes great responsibility"

I had a feeling someone on this page lived in Ellsworth, it sounded familiar. Unfortunately we didn't have time to even make the stops we did, as usual. The alternator and turbo problems slowed us down to the point we went to bed at 3AM on the way back and on the way down we pulled into camp at 5am so keeping the hammer down was the priority the whole time.

Wheel spacers are 1.5" front and rear. Rears have been there a long time, fronts are prototype hub centric new hotness. With the H2 wheels, it's really not very wide, I think I'm still about 86"-ish outside to outside. With the 5 3/8" backspace on the wheels, the 1.5" spacer makes them act like a 4" backspace which is fairly standard.

It did turn out pretty sleek, I wish I had been able to start with a newer chassis, being a little narrower and having the new cage lines would help it flow even more and it would have saved several hours on the windshield and roofskin.

If I'd have known you were coming my way, you would have been more than welcomed to camp out at my place. You gotta have some rest in between you know. Maybe next time? :waytogo:

What does this thing weigh now? It looks great.

Were you happy with the Staun internal beadlocks? I like being or at least looking street legal so they sound like a great idea. Did they hold the tire as good or better (they are a double bead lock, right?) than regular bead lock rims?

i have been extremely mad that passed couple of days because i found out ya'll came through Prairie Grove. I live really close to Prairie Grove and seeing Wally and the UAK10 in person would be a dream come true.

The Rig looks awsome, but those plowlights would be better of swapped with a set of big, round LightForces. :D Terrain looks really cool, also !

Stephen,

Looks great! I may skin my S-10 this way once I roll it.

How much of the K5 frame do you still utilize? I love the low CG and it looks like it works very well.

I still want to talk with you about linking up my trail rig someday, but I need to quit having kids! We had baby #3 August 5th!

Later,

Neil
