Back In the Saddle Again

Still unsure of which route to go all I know is I’m tired of the way it rides. It’s like riding a plank. You feel everything. Just needed to get these cut and out of the way so I can start.

While I really like how my ORD leaf springs ride, if I had the money, I would do with their link suspension. The soft leaves give up some axle control. The ride is worth it 100% though.

I definitely want to go link eventually

got it all installed again. Love how fast the paint dries here but man that Sun beat the hell out of me haha

Good location. Make sure the top of the tire does not rub when articulated. Are you pulling the front end apart to weld it?
But looking I guess it could possibly heat up enough to torch the ball joints. Just have to take it easy on the knuckle part and not do too long of a pass

Cast material should be heated before welding. The welds do not stick to cold cast metal well. Then allowed to cool very slowly. I pack them in heated sand right after welding.

Yeah I’ve welded cast before. Many a sheared off starter bolts on sbc 350’s lol

Was planning on preheating but now I’m worried about the ball joints. I guess I can go for it and if they melt I’ll just replace them.
