Back In the Saddle Again

I’m real happy with how these turned out. Pretty sure I’ll be running 14” travel shocks with these I am measuring about 22” from top mount to bottom mount.

according to my research the static space between my shock mounts is 23.75”

That means I should run the Fox 2.0 11.1 or the Billstein 5125 11” travel shocks.

But that only gives me 6” Of downward travel. But also 6” of up travel. Hmm

But do you know the actual travel measurements? Do you ever plan on changing springs?
I have 14" travel Bilstiens in Ferd towers, stock lower mounts, witha about 4.5" of lift.

I don’t know the actual measurements stuffed and drooped and I don’t have the ability to safely flex the suspension to take those measurements. The forklift at work has a 5th wheel mount welded to the forks.

I might have to find a loading dock near by and pull my front shocks off

I might change these springs up front. It’s got rough country 4” lift springs I’m fairly sure they are anyways. They are pretty stiff but that might be a good thing for street manners.

The rear has stock springs on blocks but I have a shackle flip kit I need to throw on and delete the blocks. I know that’s what I am feeling in the back. I feel the stock spring and shackle flip will give me enough flex for the rear for what I’ll be doing with this truck. It’s like running over cinderblocks on the road right now. Can feel every little bump more so in the rear than front.

Umm hello big rocks everywhere to flex on? Am home now, if you want to come by and look at ac brackets. Dip in pool, and or go flex the k5 let me know.

Definitely, I’m thinking I’ll strap a tire into my engine hoist actually. Need to get the bottom mount tacked and the top mounts welded in place still.

Tomorrow I’ll pull the wheels and get the bottom mount tacked in place. And see about my travel.

Took my sway bar out getting prepped to flex my rig and decided to take it for a spin without the sway bar.

You guys were right. The sway bar belongs in the trash.
If you get softer springs, that's when you start wanting one.
But now I would need the ORD one, so I just drive it!

next will be cross over steering since the new shock set up will allow for more stuff and droop. the drag link won't like that, the cycle of changes begins :haha:
