yeah I’m starting to rethink this. I may just put the timing chain on and see what happens.

They looks good. The pin looked good as well but I’m going to pull it right now and re check the pin. I’m wondering if the pin is busted in half but was lined up when we looked at it.Did it strip the teeth on the distributor drive gear possibly?
That would be a miracle, in my opinion.I’m thinking the cam shaft has to be twisted but isn’t broke yet
I don’t get it. I rotated the engine by hand and it all lines up. I’m going to pick up another distributor and see what happens. But we put the motor at TDC and that rotor was pointed at #4. Maybe the cam is snapped but it catches on itself during rotation because we are definitely getting front fire. I think we should test the spark on the rear cylinders before pulling the cam and also test another distributor. That would be a miracle, in my opinion.
I have seen cams shatter when dropped on a hard surface or hit by connecting rods.
I don't have any explanation for what has happened though.
I would check the distributor extremely well, top and bottom, if you haven't already given it a complete exam.
I dont believe so because it all lines up in time.Did the gear on the crank spin on the crank? I've not messed with a small block forever just diesels and I know it can happen to them.
Ditto.KC round is my vote.
