Back In the Saddle Again

When trans in neutral it feels like it doesn’t engage 4lo as if the linkage isn’t adjusted to allow it to go into 4lo.
Possible adjustment issue. Does it feel like it has the proper detents when shifting it?
Maybe someone had it apart and lost the spring for the detent ball?

The trans shifts and feels fine until the transfer case pops out. Then I lose everything up top.

It feels almost like it doesn’t go all the way into 2hi and doesn’t go all the way into 4lo

I’m convinced that it’s either the fork bushing or it’s way out of adjustment.

it’s very hard at times to go from (trans in neutral) 4lo to N almost like binding.

it will not re engage the transmission until I put the tran in N and then the transfer case into 4 lo.

I noticed there is a spacer between the trans and tcase. I don't suspect it causing this problem. Just wanted to point it out. Makes the th350 the same length as a 700r4

I noticed that as well and thought it was odd.

maybe a long output shaft th350. Not knowing which output shaft was used maybe the coupler is slipping off and shifting t case slides it back on. total wild ass guess that no proof or experience seeing that happen

I’ve tried resetting the linkage without adjusting it a couple times and it will be fine until I try to use the 4wd shifter. So I’m pretty sure it’s the rod itself not being in proper adjustment.

I’ll take it off tomorrow and break the lock bolts free and see if I can get it adjusted properly.

I believe it’s not fully engaging 2hi and that’s why it easily falls out of it and engages the transfer case.

Ok, so I’ve readjusted the rod into a better location. Still have the same symptoms. So…..THE CASE IS COMING OUT!

Windshield going in tomorrow. Going to finish up all the interior panels and once installed T-case is coming out.

Can you believe 37 people bought that part at that price? That’s nearly $13k. I’m in the wrong business.
